For nearly 20 years, I have owned and operated a small manufacturing pallet company. Running a business has given me firsthand experience managing finances, budgets, employees, operations, and the many responsibilities that come with making thoughtful decisions and being accountable for the results. My commitment to our schools and students goes beyond my professional experience. I served as the PTO Treasurer at Balfour Elementary for six years, where I gained valuable experience managing funds and working alongside parents, staff, and the school community. I also served as Co-Chair for Communities In Schools and on the Board of Directors for Randolph Rotary. T
A school board member should be able to work collaboratively with the superintendent and central office staff, taking the time to understand and value their professional expertise and input before making important decisions. The board’s role is to ask questions, listen to the professionals who manage the district, and use that information to make informed decisions that are in the best interest of students, staff, and the community.
I would encourage the district to be proactive in identifying and applying for available grants and other funding opportunities. In addition, I believe there is an opportunity to strengthen partnerships with businesses and organizations throughout our community. Local companies can play an important role in supporting our students through mentorships, career opportunities, internships, donations, and other partnerships.
Recruiting and retaining qualified teachers is one of the most important responsibilities of our school district. While the school board plays a role in setting priorities and supporting resources, the day-to-day work of identifying staffing needs and recruiting candidates is best led by the experienced professionals in our central office who understand the specific needs of each school and subject area.

During my service in 2024, I learned that Asheboro City Schools maintains high standards when selecting educators. I believe we should continue supporting those standards while strengthening efforts to attract talented teachers to our district. ACS already does a great job participating in career fairs at universities and building relation
As a mother, I can personally testify to the value of Pre-Kindergarten programs. Enrolling my daughters in Pre-K was one of the best decisions our family made. The early years of a child's education play a critical role in shaping both academic learning and positive behaviors that support future success in the classroom.

I believe Pre-K provides students with a strong foundation by helping them develop early literacy, social, and problem-solving skills before they enter kindergarten. Just as importantly, these programs can help identify children who may need additional academic, developmental, or special education support. Early intervention allows schools and families to work together to provide services that can make a significant differ
