I am the daughter of two public educators who taught me hard work, integrity, and service. I raised three daughters in this district’s public schools and volunteered as a PTSO co-treasurer, youth coach, and tutor. As a small-business owner and farmer, I know the pressures of payroll, rising costs, and affordable healthcare. As a CPA, auditor, and former corporate accounting manager, I have managed budgets, reviewed financial statements, and worked on tax returns. I will bring that experience to Raleigh to protect taxpayer dollars, support strong schools, and invest wisely. I know this community because I have raised my family, built businesses, and served here. I will listen, work across differences, and put our families ahead of politics.
If elected, my priority will be making North Carolina more affordable while investing in the services families count on. I will work to keep a reasonable C corporation income tax rate so large corporations help fund the roads, schools, and workforce they rely on. That revenue can help strengthen public schools, expand access to affordable housing, and protect affordable healthcare. As a CPA and small business owner, I will demand accountability for every dollar and oppose shifting more costs onto homeowners, working families, and small businesses.
I prioritize public schools because every child deserves a strong education close to home, regardless of family income or ZIP code. My parents were public educators, and my three daughters attended Guilford County public schools. I have seen teachers give their time, money, and hearts to students while classrooms go without enough support. As a PTSO co-treasurer and reading tutor, I saw how much a strong school means to families. In Raleigh, I will fight for reliable funding, fair pay for teachers and staff, and the counselors and resources students need. Public schools strengthen our communities and prepare the next generation. Investing in them is one of our most important responsibilities.
Tax policy should help North Carolina grow while making life more affordable. I support a reasonable C corporation income tax rate so large companies contribute to the roads, schools, and workforce they rely on. That revenue can strengthen public schools and support affordable housing and healthcare. We should protect small businesses and avoid shifting costs onto homeowners through higher property taxes. I would also seek new revenue by growing tourism, sporting events, and entertainment across the state. As a CPA, I would examine the long-term effects of tax changes and demand accountability for every public dollar.
I would support clear statewide standards requiring law enforcement officers, including sheriff’s deputies, to use body cameras during public interactions and preserve the footage. Departments should document stops, searches, use of force, and complaints consistently, with appropriate public access and privacy protections. Good records protect residents and officers alike and help build trust. I would also support better training in de-escalation, stronger safe-storage laws for firearms, and community-based mental health response so people in crisis receive the help they need.
I am running because District 62 deserves a representative with the backbone to stand up for people, not someone seeking power for its own sake. Voters deserve the truth. False claims and fabricated AI content have distorted my record, and I hope people will look beyond them to the work I am committed to doing. I will fight for public education, affordable healthcare and housing, and a community where racism and misogyny have no place. As a CPA, auditor, and small-business owner, I bring the accounting experience Raleigh needs to scrutinize budgets, cut waste, and protect taxpayer dollars. I raised my three daughters in Guilford County public schools and understand the pressure families face as costs rise. I care deeply about this district. I will listen with empathy and stand firm for our schools, families, and neighbors.
