Current Occupation
Prosecutor
I have been a prosecutor for 17 years. I handle the most difficult cases that come across a prosecutor’s desk—cases involving child sexual abuse—because protecting the most vulnerable demands experience, resolve, and care. The stakes could not be higher and the victims need a strong voice.
I have been in the courtroom fighting for victims and working hand in hand with law enforcement to keep our community safe.
I am committed to approaching every matter with an open mind and a commitment to fairness, guided by conservative values.
I graduated Campbell Law School in 2007 and throughout my legal career, I have practiced criminal law, juvenile court, and family law. I have tried hundreds of cases in both state and federal courts. I have specific training in the area of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault. Domestic violence touches both family law and criminal law. I have litigated those cases as a prosecutor for 17 years. Navigating those areas of law requires a judge with years of experience in the courtroom.
I have handled cases with numerous victims of domestic violence and sexual assault-both children and adults. Those victims deserve a judge who has experience.
Guided by my Christian faith, I am committed to fairness and justice in every matter before me.
Position/philosophy statement
I want every person who comes before me to feel like they are heard, respected, and treated fairly no matter the outcome.

I had over 26 years of wide-ranging experience in district court as an attorney before I became a district court judge. I was a solo practitioner for 16+ years managing my own law office. I also worked in local government for almost 10 years. My experience gave me an opportunity to prosecute and defend cases, so I have an understanding of every side of the courtroom. My experience included criminal, civil, and matters involving DSS, children, and families. I am now a sitting judge with almost 1.5 years of experience on the bench. I am doing the job and getting an opportunity every day to serve my community. I have worked in every aspect of the district court, and I listen, respect all people, follow the law, and am fair and just.
As a district court judge, it is not at all about politics, it is about people. In evaluating cases, I listen to the facts and apply the law. It doesn't matter your political party. It is my duty as a judge to be fair and impartial to every person who comes before me. It is very important to me to make sure that every person who comes before me is heard, respected, accountable, and treated fairly under the law.
Before becoming a judge, I practiced in the areas of family law, criminal law and juvenile justice. I am now a district court judge deciding cases in all of these areas. I brought over 26 years of experience in all these areas as an attorney to the bench with me.
When attorneys and judges across Moore and Hoke Counties were asked who the judge should be to fill this judicial seat, they voted me #1 above any other opponent in this race. The Governor then appointed me as district court judge. That trust means everything, and I work hard every day to honor their faith in me. It is a privilege to serve in the judicial district that I have spent nearly my whole life growing up, working, coaching and volunteering in the community and schools, and raising my family. I come from a family who serves others. My husband Tyrone Ross retired as a Captain with the NC State Highway Patrol after 30 years of service in law enforcement protecting our highways. My daughter Tyler is in her 10th year of teaching and coaching in our schools. My daughter Tyne is in college and spends times volunteering and coaching young people.
