Current Occupation
Small Business owner
I have always served my community in some capacity, however my most recent experience and skills as a former Rowan Salisbury School board member has strengthened my ability to understand policies and bills that are written for the citizens of North Carolina.
My most important priority is to protect our land and natural resources. Many counties governments are scrambling to put space between data centers being built and the citizens who do not wish to see them be built in rural areas.
As a former school board member, I know first hand what happens when state legislators delay budget decisions and refuse to full fund education. Public education should be fully funded, master pay should be restored and there needs to be an overhaul on the voucher system.
I believe that tax policies should not be a one rate for all deal. Western Carolina has different needs from the Piedmont as well as Coastal Plains. The tax policies should reflect the industries that are in those areas, the infrastructure needed and the families who work and pay those taxes.
I fully support laws that increases penalties for fentanyl trafficking and minors being trafficked. I also support stronger penalties for domestic violence as well as child abuse.
I fully support women’s rights to our bodies and the right to vote! I also fully support the American Disability Act. Our disabled community has a right to education and communities that support accessibility.
