Experience matters in serving the public. I was elected and served as the state representative in the NC 98th House district multiple terms in the past at the state level and served on multiple committees when elected to the NC House. I was elected and have been a Cornelius Town Commissioner at the local government level. I've lived, worked, and served in the community that includes the NC 98th House District for nearly 40 years as a small business owner, a Mecklenburg County Medic, and Cornelius firefighter. I've served in legislative leadership roles at the local Chamber of Commerce.
To provide exceptional responsive constituent service as I have in past terms in the NC House and as a former business owner, medic, and firefighter serving the citizens in the community on their worst and best days. To make coummunities safer by pursuing legislation that would end the release of dangererous repeat offenders into our streets to harm and kill our fellow citizens. To protect women's sports. No men in women's sports. To keep men out of women's restrooms and locker rooms. No males in female's restrooms and locker rooms. To revisit and reassess the tolling of I-77 and exhorbitant fees.
When I served in the NC House in previous terms, I sponsored HB1017 "The Mecklenburg Education Freedom Act" which would give citizens a vote to deconsolidate the huge Charlotte Mecklenburg School system into four more manageable districts that are more reflective of the local communites throughout the county. The current system is adminstrative heavy leaving fewer dollars to reach the classroom. Parents should have a choice as to where they educate their children and should not be held hostage to failing schools. The tax dollars that parents pay into local and state government should follow the child and parents should have a choice.
North Carolina does not have an income problem, it's always a priority of spending crisis. North Carolina should first drastically reduce the tax burden and regulation on individuals and businesses. In turn the economy will benefit with business owners able to to take those dollars and reinvest back into their businesses creating jobs and employment opportunities. The government that takes the least from citizens and businesses and allows them a choice where they invest in the growth of their personal lives and businesses governs best.
Without question to make it more difficult for repeat offenders to be released to the streets to harm or kill our citzens over and over again. Constitutional Carry should be passed allowing citizens to have greater access to firearms to protect themselves and their families as provided for in our 2nd Amendment. This model has shown that communites with a well armed law abiding citizenry is a much safer community and thrives.
One of the greatest threats to women specifically and our nation at present is the invasion of Islamists and Muslims in our country and the implemenation of Sharia Law which the practice should be banned in our local communities, state, and nation. The Islamist culture has turned every nation that it has invaded into a third world country and is a very deadly cult that is extremely deadly and oppresive to women. The League of Women Voters is encouraged to speak out on this issue and fight deadly Islamist ideology and Sharia Law as it has always without exception anywhere it has invaded a nation, proven to be deadly and oppressive to women and all citizens.
