IREDELL COUNTY SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT SUPERVISOR {_getChooseLabel(this.selections.length)}

The non-paid board of supervisors meets monthly to establish local soil and water conservation priorities based on the needs of the district. The Board chairs work groups to address these priorities through the installation and implementation of best management practices that protect and improve the natural resources within the district. The work is accomplished by partnering with local, state and federal agencies; businesses; and non-profit organizations for technical and financial assistance. . The Division of Soil and Water Conservation administers ACSP, AgWRAP and CCAP, and holds each local board of supervisors accountable to these state programs. Each district is governed by a five-member board of supervisors. Three supervisors are elected on the general ballot as non-partisan candidates during the regular election of county officers, and two are appointed by the NC Soil and Water Conservation Commission upon recommendation of the local district board of supervisors.

Working with Soil and Water flow for years on over 1400 Acres in NC helps make me a better candidate. Our district needs help with Water and Sewer work! Our Farmers in the North of District have been hurt by the extreme heat with No Rain.
Clean water is always a concern. Smaller Towns need there own Sewer System. So Sewer is not passed on to another town in the district. This need has to be addressed throughout the Region. Grants needed for placing Water Towers.
At the Iredell County Center our District has the NC COOPERATIVE EXTENSION. THROUGH help with NC AandT State University and also NC State University. Agriculture programs in livestock, pesticide, 4-H, field Crops, horticulture.
Most important is improving peoples lives. Giving positive changes. Communicating with all Citizens. Advance Technology needs to be shared with all. Schools have to join this Partnership for environmental stewardship. Thanking You I am.
Position/philosophy statement I believe in conserving our natural resources in the best possible manner with the best possible decisions. All too often I see large corporations getting away with polluting our lakes and streams with zero consequences.

I have over 30 years experience working in corporate America with specific experience in the Information and Technology area. This experience can help with key topics related to our open lands as it relates to Data Centers. All too often our elected officials are lacking in this area or expertise. I have over 30 years of community involvement. I have actively fought issues of corruption against our community here in North Carolina and Ohio. I little note about me was that I served in the United States Army, and was stationed at Fort Bragg in the 1990'2.
There are four major issues I see this board facing: 1) Toxic dumping of waste into our waterways. We need a loud public voice to handle this. 2) The Dam structure in the Third Creek area is aging. Those dams were built to last 50 years and they are over 70 years old now. 3) A strong voice for the community related to Data Centers. I am neither pro or con Data Center, but just like any infrastructure project it must be good for the community. Use the Toll roads as an example of NOT good for the community. 4) The Education aspect of the Soil & Water Conservation District is important to me. I think we need to continue program to teach our young students to think about farming and engineering in their future. These programs help that!
Student Education in the County is the most important area.
