Sheboygan County Sheriff

The County Sheriff is a public official elected every 4 years. A County Sheriff s duties are listed in Section 59.27 of Wisconsin Statutes, and include (but are not limited to): Command the County s law enforcement force enforce state law and County ordinances; maintain the peace, run the County jail and take charge and custody of those in the jail, Keep a register of all prisoners committed to the County jail, Attend to the County circuit court, and the court of appeals when in session in the county. serve or execute processes, writs, precepts and legal orders Enforce orders of the State of Wisconsin relating to transportation and storage of explosives. Conduct rescue and body recoveries of human beings on land, and in waters of which the county has jurisdiction. Enforce municipal ordinances in cities and villages where the Sheriff is under contract.
