As a full-time accounting professor, longtime career and technical education (CTE) teacher, and certified school administrator. I bring real-world educational and financial experience to the Taylor School Board.
I hold a B.S. in Accounting alongside master’s degrees in education technology and public administration. With over 30 years in the classroom, I understand what teachers need to succeed, how to manage public budgets responsibly, and how to prepare Taylor students for college, trade careers, and future workforce opportunities.
I am running for the Taylor School Board because I believe every student deserves access to a safe, supportive, and high-quality education. Together, we can build stronger schools and a stronger community.
My top priorities are Academic Growth, Safe & Supportive Schools, and Fiscal Responsibility. To increase enrollment and bring students back to Taylor, we must make our schools places where students feel safe and valued. We will boost test scores in elementary and middle schools through targeted reading and math interventions, while expanding CTE and trade pathways for older students. To keep families here, I will prioritize school safety protocols and mental health resources. As an accounting professor, I will apply strict financial oversight so taxpayer dollars directly enhance classrooms, improve student achievement, and build a district where every child thrives.
Ensuring equity starts by making every school a welcoming environment where all students feel safe, valued, and supported. To drive Academic Growth and improve test scores across elementary and middle schools, I will ensure equitable funding for early literacy, math support, ELL programs, and updated resources. To retain families and expand opportunities, we must offer robust CTE pathways and multilingual family outreach. Through Safe & Supportive Schools, I will advocate for inclusive support programs and staff training that build empathy and respect across all backgrounds. Transparent fiscal oversight will ensure every child gets the tailored tools needed to succeed.
Creating Safe & Supportive Schools where students feel safe, valued, and respected is essential for learning and student retention. Physically, I support up-to-date building security protocols, controlled access points, and close coordination with first responders. Culturally, we must implement district-wide PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) and restorative practices to set clear expectations, encourage positive behavior, and resolve conflict constructively. Training staff in proactive classroom strategies, de-escalation, and mental health first aid will help prevent bullying before it starts. Guided by Fiscal Responsibility, we will fund these safety measures efficiently to boost performance across all schools

I was appointed to the Board of Education in 2024, so I currently have 2 years of experience. I have served on local boards as the Vice President of the Taylor Community Library, a commissioner for the Historical Commission, and as a commissioner on the Veterans Museum Commission. I used to be an educator before my current professional role working for the state of Michigan, and I have managerial experience.
I am running to increase our literacy rates, invest in more career and technical educational opportunities, and to make sure our schools are safe and comfortable for students and staff.
I have already voted to start returning our school district to a phonics-based education for our kindergarten through second grade classrooms. I have voted to add more CTE course opportunities for our high school students, and I have consistently voted to repair and update our buildings. I have also voted to bargain in good faith with our teachers and support staff unions, as happy employees create a more consistent learning environment for our students.
I will always do my best to make sure every student is comfortable being themselves. I have led on running a food pantry drive for our district food pantries when SNAP benefits were under attack last year.
I will continue to follow the Elliott-Larsen Act as is mandated by the state of Michigan when it comes to the protected statuses of all students and staff in the school district. I will invest in our current English Language Learner programing as needs increase.
We need more social workers and therapists working in our school district to help address the rising safety and mental health concerns currently present in our youth. Teachers already have so much on their plates and asking them to do even more takes away from their primary goal of educating our students.
We have already implemented some protective measures in the district pertaining to school shootings, but there is always more we can do.
I’m running to help bring the focus back to what matters most: education.
Our schools and students deserve our full attention, and I believe education should be our number one priority. I’m committed to transparency, accountability, and making sure our community has a clear understanding of the decisions being made.
As a college graduate, I understand the value of education and the opportunities it can create. I’m running to put education first, move away from unnecessary politics, and focus on what truly matters — our students, our schools, and their future.I’m running to help bring the focus back to what matters most: education.
I believe we need to put education first by focusing on student achievement, improving test scores, and making sure every student has the opportunity to succeed.
That also means accountability. Our teachers deserve support and respect, but we must also hold educators accountable when performance consistently falls short of the standards our students deserve.
I’m committed to transparency, higher academic expectations, and keeping the focus where it belongs: our students and their education.
I’m not running on politics—I’m running to ensure every child has access to a quality education. I strongly support school choice because parents should have the ability to choose the educational path that best meets their child’s needs.
Every school should be prepared to protect and support students, no matter what challenges arise. Every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and supported at school. Bullying should never be tolerated in any school setting, and we must create an environment where every student can learn without fear of being targeted or mistreated.
