Affordability is Maine’s greatest challenge. Rising costs for housing, groceries, energy and healthcare, combined with inflation and taxes, are making it harder for families, seniors and young people to make ends meet. We need practical solutions that lower costs, support economic opportunity and keep Maine an affordable place to live and work.
At the same time, we must focus on responsible growth. Maine is the oldest state in the nation by median age, creating workforce and demographic challenges. To strengthen our future, we need to attract and retain younger people and families by expanding housing, supporting businesses and creating opportunities that encourage them to build their lives and careers here in Maine.
Many of the challenges facing Scarborough mirror those facing communities across Maine, particularly affordability and managing growth responsibly. However, Scarborough also has a unique responsibility as home to the largest salt marsh in Maine. Protecting this invaluable natural resource is essential to preserving our environment, supporting local wildlife and maintaining the character of our community. As we plan for future growth, we must strike a balance between economic development, housing needs and strong environmental stewardship to ensure Scarborough remains a great place to live for generations to come.
What I want voters to know about me is that I am a consensus builder. For the past six years, I have served on the Scarborough School Board, including five years as Chair, bringing people together to address complex challenges, make responsible financial decisions and build strong partnerships among families, educators and the broader community. Professionally, I hold a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and have worked in consumer advocacy, public policy and leadership development, including as a Policy Analyst for Navy Federal Credit Union. Today, I work with Maine credit unions to develop leaders and strengthen communities.
My husband and I are proud to call Scarborough home, and I am committed to serving with integrity and purpose.

I was born and raised here in Scarborough. I am a Registered Maine Guide, and an educator with experience working in pre-schools, with higher needs students, and in outdoor education settings. Accordingly, I have an intimiate understanding of both our public education system, and our tourism-outdoor recreation economy. My philosophy as a legislator is that politics requires three things: will, power, and relationships. As a legislator I will both work with anyone and stand up to anyone - the issues we face are too important for petty bickering or partisanship for partisanship's sake. That said, voters will always know where I stand on issues, and I will never compromise for the sake of compromise itself.
