Maine families are feeling squeezed by the rising cost of housing, food, energy, health care, child care, and other basic needs. At the same time, we face a shortage of affordable housing, an aging population, workforce challenges, and increasing pressure on the services people rely on. Climate change is also affecting our communities and traditional industries. I believe we need to focus on making Maine a place where people can afford to live, work, raise a family, and age with dignity.
Harpswell and Brunswick are wonderful communities, but we face real pressures. Housing costs are making it harder for working families, young people, and older residents to stay here. In Harpswell, protecting our working waterfront and access to the coast is essential to our local economy and way of life. We also need to strengthen local EMS and public safety, protect mobile home communities, address climate impacts along our coastline, and make sure our rural and coastal communities have access to the services and infrastructure they need.
This district has been my home my entire life. I grew up here, raised my family here, built a small business here, and have spent much of my life advocating for others. I know what it is like to struggle, and I also know how much good public policy can matter in someone’s life. I see being a representative as being an advocate. I listen, I show up, and I work hard to turn what I hear from people in our communities into action. I believe government works best when it listens first and values lived experience.
