Maine is becoming increasingly unaffordable for working families and seniors. Property taxes are rising, housing and energy costs are putting pressure on household budgets, and too many rural communities have lost the good-paying jobs that once supported generations of families. At the same time, access to healthcare and essential services is becoming harder in many parts of our state. We need to lower the cost of living while rebuilding economic opportunity so that people can afford to stay, work, raise a family, and retire in Maine.
Jay, Livermore, and Livermore Falls have lost much of the industrial base that once provided good-paying local jobs and supported our tax base. Today, many residents travel long distances for work and even basic healthcare, while homeowners face rising property taxes and our ambulance, police, fire, and other local services are under pressure. I want to bring more opportunity back home by attracting good-paying jobs, delivering meaningful property tax relief, strengthening rural healthcare, and ensuring our communities have the resources to provide essential services.
I was born and raised in Jay, and these communities have shaped who I am. At 13, I founded a community garden that still grows food for our local food pantry today. I went away for college and work, but I chose to come home because I believe our towns deserve a strong future. I’ve spent this campaign knocking on thousands of doors and listening to people across Jay, Livermore, and Livermore Falls. I’m not running to complain about what’s wrong. I’m running to work with people, find practical solutions, and deliver results for the community I love.
