Affordability. Property taxes keep rising as school and county costs hit local bills. Housing prices out working families. Heat, groceries, and energy take more of every paycheck. Towns cannot keep up with roads and water systems. Augusta has not earned that money: improper MaineCare payments and failed child-protection oversight waste dollars families need. Lower the tax pressure, audit the spending, and leave towns enough control to stay livable.
District 32 is Biddeford, Dayton, Hollis, Lyman, and Arundel. School-funding formulas treat rising home values as spare cash and dump the bill on taxpayers. Working people cannot afford to live near the jobs they need. Small towns get unfunded mandates they cannot staff. Biddeford has already paid for billing errors and the local fallout of failed policies. I will fight the formula, demand DHHS accountability, and protect local control.
I was born and raised in Biddeford. I am a veteran, a small-business owner, and an independent. I have signed both sides of a paycheck. I will treat taxes, housing, schools, and public safety as kitchen-table problems, not party fights. If a bill does not help this district stay affordable and safe, I will vote no.
