Position Description: The board determines the operational budget, hires the superintendent, draws attendance zones, sets the calendar, and adopts policies for the board and district. The Orangeburg County school board is composed of nine members: seven are elected from single-member districts and two are elected at large. * Orangeburg County native. BA degree Clafin University, M.Ed. SC State University and further studies at various universities.
* Taught in Orangeburg Consolidated School District 3, Jasper and Beaufort County (Hilton Head HS,
* Retired educator with 34 years as classroom teacher.
* As an educator whose career had been built on purpose, service, and legacy. Still I wanted to serve students; therefore, I was elected to the Orangeburg County School District Boards of Trustees as Secretary and Chairwoman for 8 years. My service extended beyond Orangeburg County. I was elected Region Director SC School Boards Association and SCSBA/SCSBIT Boards.
