I am engaging in this campaign and committing to not accepting donations from special interests, lobbying organizations, or PAC's. I have filed by petition with the signatures of 828 of my potential constituents. I have dedication to my State as demonstrated by my political service, and close ties to my constituents having farmed in this district my entire life. I have a proven record of fiscal responsibility and prudent executive behavior having served on numerous Boards.
Kansas has several critical issues. In general, they revolve around taxation and the effects of inflation, the undue and corrosive influence of monetary interests in our legislative process, and the rural urban divide. Our rural areas and small towns continue to depopulate. All three of these issues interconnect. All three will require honest communication, fiscal prudence, and coalition building. I am uniquely able to engage in sectors of our State.
The only way to engage with the legislative process is to have a representative who not only understand how issues affect their constituents, but is able to communicate and coalition build as necessary to engage in the political process. The "Gut and Go" practice is an anathema to honest politics.
