The Mayor is responsible for leading the city, working with the City Council and other city officials, and making decisions that help improve the community. The mayor helps oversee city operations, represents the city and its residents, works to bring in resources and opportunities, and makes sure the needs and concerns of the people are being addressed.
My experience in public service as a Deputy Circuit Clerk and Criminal Coordinator has taught me how to work with the public, handle important responsibilities, stay organized, and work with different people. I also have experience as a notary, event coordinator, entrepreneur, and community advocate. These experiences have helped me develop strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, teamwork, and organizational skills that I believe qualify me to serve as Mayor.
The first thing I plan to improve is communication and connection between City Hall and the people of Forrest City. I want residents to feel heard, informed, and involved in what is happening in their community. I would accomplish this by creating more opportunities for residents to communicate with city leadership, holding regular community meetings, listening to concerns, and making city information more accessible and transparent.
