State Representative District 99
Together, the House of Representatives and the Senate constitute the Connecticut General Assembly (CGA). The General Assembly enacts legislation dealing with state appropriations and finance, public welfare, the environment, public works, housing, education, civil and criminal laws, and other matters. The Senate tries all impeachments of executive and judicial branch officials. In Connecticut, members of the state’s legislative body, the General Assembly, must be at least eighteen years old and reside in the district they represent. Senate and House members serve two-year terms. Candidates were asked to respond to questions developed by local Leagues of Women Voters (LWV). Candidates enter their replies directly into Vote411, and replies are not edited by the LWV.This is the link to the CGA website: https://www.cga.ct.gov/To view sample ballots go to this website:- https://portal.ct.gov/sots/election-services/town-ballots/2026-november-town-election-ballots

I retired from a career in health care, spending the last 40 years in diagnostic imaging.
I have been involved in many capacities in my community, from volunteering in community organizations like The American Legion Auxiliary, serving on appointed boards such as the Zoning Board of Appeals to being elected to the East Haven Town Council, currently serving my 3rd term.
Lowering everyday costs: I would support property tax relief for seniors, stronger oversight of utility rates, and expanded access to affordable housing and healthcare. Securing East Haven’s fair share of state funding would help reduce pressure on local taxpayers.
Strengthening public education: I would advocate for fair, reliable state funding for our schools and special education, investments in safe and healthy classrooms, and support for teachers and paraprofessionals. I would also work to expand career and technical education.
The legislature should focus on the costs that put the greatest strain on household budgets: housing, utilities, healthcare, and childcare. I support targeted property tax relief for working families and seniors, stronger oversight of utility rates, and investments in energy efficiency to lower bills. We should expand affordable housing options, help first-time homebuyers, reduce prescription drug costs, and make childcare more affordable. Fair, reliable state funding for schools and local services would also ease pressure on property taxpayers. These efforts should be paired with responsible spending and a fair tax system that asks those with the greatest ability to pay to contribute their share.
