I am a Cuban-born American, longtime South Carolina resident, and healthcare professional. I’m running to bring working families a stronger voice on education, healthcare, jobs, affordability, and safe, thriving communities.
I bring more than 12 years of experience working in healthcare, firsthand experience as a working mother, and the perspective of an immigrant who has built a life in South Carolina since 2010. I understand the challenges families face with healthcare costs, education, employment, transportation and affordability. I am committed to listening to residents, learning the issues affecting our district, and representing our communities with honesty, accountability and respect.
1. Education: Invest in quality public schools, support teachers and ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.
2. Affordable healthcare: Work to make healthcare and prescription medications more affordable and accessible for working families.
3. Jobs, infrastructure and affordability: Support good-paying jobs while improving roads and infrastructure and addressing the rising cost of living.
I believe state government works best when residents can easily communicate with their representatives and see how decisions affect their communities. I would prioritize regular communication with constituents, accessible community meetings, transparent information about legislation and spending, and timely responses to residents’ concerns. I would also work to ensure that the needs of our district are represented consistently in Columbia.
