One of my plans is to add programming to help school children improve on very low reading levels (only 57% of 3rd graders in Plymouth schools are at grade level for reading!) I will also offer classes to advance literacy for adults (At the national level, about 21% of U.S. adults live with low literacy).
Occupation/Current Profession Senior Engineering Manager
Education Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering; Masters of Science Engineering Management
I am a R & D Senior Manager for Nissan North America. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Western Michigan University and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from U of M Dearborn. I have had the distinct pleasure of serving on the Plymouth District Library Board of Trustees for the last 8 years. I am a 26-year resident of Plymouth, I currently reside in the City of Plymouth with my wife Loren and our two children, Hala and Noorah. Being an engaged member of my community is important to me.  I am running for reelection because I believe that our library is a highlight of Plymouth. It welcomes everyone in our community and provides equal access to knowledge for every person who walks through its doors.
The library of yesterday is only a fraction of what the library of today offers. Modern libraries are no longer simply places to access books; they are hubs for lifelong learning, technology, innovation, workforce development, community engagement, and cultural enrichment. My goal in serving on the board is to support the continued evolution of our library as it expands community access to digital resources, embraces emerging technologies, develops innovative programming, and creates opportunities for residents of all ages and all walks of life to learn, connect, and thrive, while maintaining the library as one of Plymouth's most important and trusted institutions. Ensuring that every resident feels welcomed, supported, and represented.

Occupation/Current Profession Technology Business Owner
63, Resident of Plymouth Twp, Lake Pointe since 1985. Married to Lisa. One adult son. Founded and operates technology consulting firm employing local people. Served on multiple non-profit boards, including Plymouth Historical Society/Museum.
I am running to ensure our library remains a welcoming, neutral center of learning, literacy, and community gathering. A public library should serve every resident by focusing of it's core mission: broad access to knowledge, classic and contemporary literature, research resources, and a quiet space for study and personal growth. In recent years, public libraries have become battlegrounds for competing social justice agendas. Age appropriate Collection Management. Protect our children from radical agendas. Fiscal responsibly, I will work to lower our property tax burden. LOWER, not raise. Neutrality in Programming, No promotion of social agendas. I ask for your vote to place a pro liberty, conservative voice on our library board.

Occupation/Current Profession Yoga Teacher
Education M.P.H.
I have lived in Plymouth with my husband for seven years, and I teach yoga. I would love to serve another term on the Plymouth District Library Board because I view the library as a critical democratic institution that deserves our safekeeping. It provides our community with access to trustworthy information as well as kind and dependable people. It is a space for social gathering where no one has to pay an entrance fee. It is an attention sanctuary where we can find peace and quiet in a loud and restless world. It is a creative and mind-expanding place where you can learn anything you want and use the tools you need to complete your project. We have a gem of a library, and we need to protect it by electing people who love it.
The Board has fiduciary responsibility for the library, leads strategically for the future, and respects the professional expertise of staff. Our library's financial health is strong, with the recent interior renovation paid for by years of careful stewardship, not any increase in the millage rate. Now the Board needs someone who thinks deeply about AI and its implications. I was the first to advocate for an AI policy for our library (currently in draft). To safeguard against the recent uptick in book challenges across the country, we must elect Trustees who think critically about intellectual freedom and who will stand up against censorship. I come prepared to our monthly meetings, having done the reading, ready to ask informed questions.
