I am a third-generation Irondequoit resident, and I am proud to live and raise my family in the community that shaped me. I attended public school in West Irondequoit and have dual master's degrees in Education and Public Administration from SUNY Brockport. My professional experience involves working in the education, public health, and workforce development sectors. As a career public servant, I have been employed by the West Irondequoit Central School District and Monroe County, and I currently work for the NYS Department of Labor. I support recruitment and HR initiatives for businesses across Monroe County. I currently serve as our division’s council leader for the Rochester Region employees through the NYS Public Employees Federation (PEF). I have been an active volunteer on multiple community boards in Irondequoit for over a decade, and this past March, I decided to step aside to run for elected office and look forward to serving the Irondequoit community on the Town Council.
1. Enhancing Affordability: Working to keep taxes flat, prioritize responsible budgeting, and deliver a better return on the residents' hard-earned tax dollars.
2. Improving Quality of Life: Making vital investments in the amenities our families rely on, from quality housing to parks and playgrounds.
3. Investing in Community Development: Support local businesses, expanding economic development initiatives, and helping our neighborhoods thrive from the ground up.
Supporting the updating of Town ordinances to be as efficient as possible (e.g., modifying the code regarding corner lots and fencing requirements). Supporting pro-housing initiatives allowing senior citizens to age in place and mixed-use commercial district zoning changes to help promote business and community development projects. I believe the current zoning code is being reviewed and updated.
One of my priorities is to support new development opportunities and our small business community in Irondequoit. My goal is to support the businesses we currently have in Town and source new business development opportunities. I want Irondequoit to be known as a business-friendly, inviting community for residents and tourists. The development opportunities should focus on attracting restaurant/café and entertainment options, unique entrepreneurial and recreational projects, promoting destination businesses, and allowing for additional age-friendly housing options. I want Irondequoit to be a place where people come for an experience. I am excited to help advance new ideas and concepts by publicly promoting desired projects, collaborating with my fellow elected colleagues and town staff, and working alongside county, state, and federal partners, and by gathering input and support from multiple stakeholders and residents.
