I have been a member of Tecumseh City Council since November of 2022. Prior to that, I have also participated on multiple committee rolls not only in the City of Tecumseh, but other committees pertaining to Lenawee County including the Local Development Finance Authority since its inception in 2016. I have been a member of this community for 50-years and a graduate of Tecumseh Public Schools. My children have also called Tecumseh home and graduated TPS. I feel that one of the most important obligations as a City Council Member is to stay educated in relation to issues the city may be facing and supporting our department heads.
I have been a Project Manager for a local General Contractor for over 25-years. As part of this job description, I am responsible for tracking budgets on multiple projects on a project-to-project basis including estimates for each job. As stated above, I have been a member of City Council since November of 2022. Prior to that, I was a member of the ZBA and the CBA. I have been a member of the LDFA since 2016. As for policies, I feel that it is important to have an innovative approach and an open mind to consider new possibilities/opportunities for our community while continuing to support this great city and our downtown business owners. Another strong belief that I have is to support our youth and our longtime residents.
Over my time having the privilege to serve the City of Tecumseh, I have been very proud of the city's accountability and transparency. From our local elections, the exceptional job that our city clerk, Tonya Miller has done, it is comforting of the accolades she, her staff, and volunteers have received. I feel that it is important to educate our youth related not only local government, but state and federal government as well. And our responsibilities to those who have made our town what it is must always be heard and respected. Concerns of our citizens should always be addressed to the best of our ability. With this in mind, the overall community's needs must be taken into consideration.

My education, professional experience, community involvement, and service on City Council have given me a well-rounded understanding of the responsibilities that come with serving our community. I have also spent 20 years working in the banking industry, giving me valuable experience with financial matters, accountability, and working directly with people to understand their needs and concerns.

As a current City Council member, I have firsthand experience with the issues and responsibilities facing our city and understand the importance of listening to residents, reviewing information carefully, and making thoughtful decisions. My involvement on multiple community organization boards has also allowed me to work collaboratively with others and stay engaged with the needs and priorities of our community. Having lived in the city for more than 10 years, I have a personal connection to the community and a genuine interest in its continued success.
I believe the most important responsibility of a City Council member is to listen to residents and make responsible decisions in the best interests of the entire community. That means being accessible, informed, fiscally responsible, and willing to work collaboratively to address challenges and opportunities. If re-elected, I will continue bringing my experience, knowledge of our city, and commitment to community service to the role while working to represent residents thoughtfully and responsibly.
