1. Provide biographical information, and explain why you are running for Library Board and relevant qualities and skills you would bring to the position.
2. What are the top three (3) priority issues facing your library, and what actions would you, as a board member, take regarding each of them?
I have lived in Brandon Township since 2020. I am a home school educator and have been actively involved in volunteering with local non-profits and mutual aid organizations since 2023. Serving on the Library Board has been a fantastic way for me to utilize my skills and give back to the community in a meaningful way.
Overall we are fortunate to have a thriving library; I would say the top three issues we face are funding, community engagement, and protecting access. The best way to ensure the success of the library is to build trust within the community by maintaining transparency, advocating for public library access, and actively (and enthusiastically) engaging with our patrons. The more we are able to freely share information and knowledge, the more understanding and empathetic we can become.
