After graduating from NCS in 2013, I spent nearly a decade working in education, directly with students and families to ensure success, safety, and engagement. As an administrator, I held various responsibilities from leading assessment initiatives and building operations, to creating emergency protocols and overseeing budgets. I would be a unique asset to our district. I have earned a Master of Education; bring experience working with parents to address concerns in an educational setting; ability to support administrators in their ongoing efforts to provide a student-focused, well-rounded education that provides students with the preparation to be career- and college-ready by graduation. As a proud Pirate alum and former educator, I would make an effective and committed board member.
The ultimate priority is to provide students with a safe and supportive educational environment. By prioritizing student success and wellness, we can improve every district metric: reading proficiency, career-readiness, enrollment, graduation rates. With a decade of experience in education, I’d welcome the opportunity to support our district in continuing to find ways to evaluate student needs, provide intervention, and promote achievement.
Additional important priorities are to ensure educators have a champion as they encounter new challenges in today's learning environments and to engage parents as partners in their student's education.
I would prioritize what has the greatest day-to-day impact on students: teachers and student-facing staff. Even ahead of funding decreases, the board must be proactive and diligent in reviewing expenditures; ensuring funding of programs and resources that both are effective and improve the education our district provides. Additionally, a commitment to providing a strong educational experience allows NCS to attract and retain families, protecting enrollment and long-term financial sustainability.
Napoleon Community Schools is a cornerstone of our community, with residents uniting over a shared sense of Pirate Pride. It is a priority that every student and family should feel like they belong and can succeed at NCS. I would prioritize proactive communication, accessible opportunities for parent feedback, and clear processes for addressing concerns. I am committed to aiding NCS in their mission to provide an engaging and inclusive learning environment for all students.
In today’s educational environment, technology can be a great resource, and at times a hinderance. There needs to be thoughtful and proactive consideration for how students and educators utilize technology while at school. With the prominence of AI, students should be taught about responsible ways to engage with, not rely on, AI to complete math homework or write a paper. Teachers and administrators can utilize technology without sacrificing the security of our students and their information.

As a 2008 Napoleon graduate and parent with children in our elementary, middle, and high schools, I have a longstanding connection to this district. I hold a master's degree in social work and am a clinical therapist, private practice owner, adjunct professor, and current board member of another organization. These experiences have strengthened my ability to navigate difficult conversations, consider different perspectives, and work collaboratively. I would bring a unique combination of professional and personal experience, along with a genuine desire to serve, ask thoughtful questions, and approach decisions with both empathy and accountability.
My priorities include student safety, academic achievement, and the academic and emotional well-being of both students and staff. I believe students thrive in environments where they feel safe and supported while being held to consistent expectations. I also believe our educators and staff deserve to feel valued and supported in the work they do. Rather than approaching this position with a predetermined agenda, I want to better understand our district's strengths and challenges and contribute to informed decisions that support its long-term success.
My first priority would be protecting classroom instruction and essential academic resources while maintaining student safety and supporting our staff. Before considering reductions, I would want to thoroughly understand the district's financial position, explore available alternatives, and seek input from educators and administrators who understand how resources are used.
Every student and family deserves to feel heard, respected, and valued, even when perspectives differ. My professional experience has taught me the importance of listening to understand rather than simply responding. I believe welcoming environments and accountability go hand in hand, with consistent expectations and respect for everyone. I would encourage open communication, meaningful family involvement, and consideration of the different experiences and needs within our school community.
Technology presents valuable opportunities, but also challenges that require clear boundaries and age-appropriate expectations. Social media raises concerns about student safety, privacy, bullying, and emotional well-being, while AI presents questions about academic integrity and critical thinking skills. I would support clear, consistent expectations and collaboration with educators, families and students learning to navigate technology responsibly as it continues to evolve.

My background offers a fresh perspective, shaped by my upbringing out-of-state and my pursuit of education through the graduate level, where I earned an MBA. Through my wife’s career as a lifelong high school teacher and coach, I have gained valuable, firsthand insight into the education system from a staff member's perspective.
As a parent of four children currently beginning their own journeys within our district, I am deeply invested in our community's success. I am passionate about dedicating my time to ensuring our school system provides the best possible education for all our future leaders.
My top priority is preparing Napoleon for its next chapter of growth as we enter the final years of our Strategic Plan. While fulfilling existing commitments, the board must proactively shape our next long-term roadmap.
That plan must be grounded in genuine community input, fiscal discipline, and measurable outcomes. The board’s core role is governance: setting the vision, allocating resources responsibly, and holding leadership accountable without micromanaging daily operations. My focus is equipping our staff and students with the exact tools needed for lasting success.
If school funding drops, my priority is protecting direct classroom instruction. I will cut administrative overhead and non-essential vendor contracts before touching student-facing resources. Maintaining school safety and supporting students' education remain non-negotiable priorities. Ultimately, fiscal responsibility and strong programs will retain local families, keep our community thriving, and protect our students' success.
A welcoming district relies on transparent and proactive communication, including regular updates and community briefings to keep families fully informed. Welcoming every family also means celebrating every student by highlighting achievements across academics, the arts, and athletics so all success is recognized.
Technology like AI and social media presents real challenges, but it is also an unavoidable part of our students' future. Because AI applications are growing rapidly across the modern workforce, our schools have a responsibility to teach students how to use these tools effectively, ethically, and productively. Because misuse can cause real harm, the district must establish clear rules to keep students safe.
