Quality healthcare starts with lowering costs and expanding access for working families. I support protecting coverage for people with preexisting conditions, restoring Affordable Care Act subsidies, and lowering prescription drug prices by allowing Medicare to negotiate more drug costs. We also need to cap out-of-pocket expenses and hold insurance companies accountable for practices that drive up costs without improving care.
I also believe we need to expand access to providers, especially in primary care and mental health, so families in every community can get the care they need without facing financial hardship.
I believe we need a strong, secure border and an immigration system that is orderly, lawful, and fair. I’ve personally led both military and civilian law enforcement operations, and I know how important professionalism and clear leadership are to mission success. The chaos and lack of public trust we are seeing around immigration enforcement today is largely the result of a toxic culture starting at the top.
We need to strengthen border management, speed up case processing, and reduce backlogs, while also creating clear legal pathways for people who want to work, contribute, and become part of our communities legally.
I believe every eligible American should be able to vote securely and without unnecessary barriers. That means protecting the integrity of our elections while also expanding access through measures like early voting, secure absentee voting, and efficient voter registration systems.
I’m also concerned by efforts we’re seeing here in South Carolina and across the country that undermine public trust in elections or attempt to change the rules in the middle of the process. Our democracy works best when people have confidence that elections are fair, transparent, and administered consistently for everyone.
Congress has a responsibility to serve as a co-equal branch of government and provide oversight and accountability no matter which party controls the White House. That includes protecting the rule of law, respecting the independence of the courts, and ensuring executive power is not abused.
I spent 35 years in the military serving under administrations of both parties, and I know strong institutions depend on the checks and balances our country was founded on, and leaders willing to put the country ahead of politics.

To ensure quality and affordable healthcare, products and services must be returned to commodity status, by removing insurance companies and the government from the relationship between patient and healthcare providers. Medicare can be stabilized by amending eligibility ages and then slowly transferred to a Health Savings Account regime. Medicaid spending must have an actual budget cap and then be transferred completely, over time, to the 50 states. The link between health care and employment must be cut. We start by eliminating the tax deductibility for employer provided health insurance and removing health insurance from federal employee benefits. This will lead providers to be more transparent on costs and lead patients to make decisions
In parallel: a temporary moratorium on asylum applications and Temporary Protected status. At the same time, drastically increase the work visa numbers (H1 and H2).
Stop all construction of border walls. Enforcement of immigration law must be administrative, not military. Eliminate qualified immunity laws for ALL government employees, including elected officials, to improve accountability during enforcement of immigration policies. Use student visas to identify the young people we want to offer full citizenship. Create a pathway to citizenship for the Dreamers, based on their work and education histories while in the country.
I oppose the SAVE act. It is already illegal to vote in federal elections if you are not a citizen.
I oppose the weaponization of the Postal Service when it comes to mail in ballots. The states run elections and the federal government should RARELY interfere with states rights to do so.
I support routine, thorough auditing, by the states and counties of voting machine security and voter ID laws. I support the federal laws (National Voter Registration Act of 1993) that require states and municipalities to keep their voter rolls “clean” with regular audits of deaths, marriages, divorces, relocations.
This is my number one reason for running for the U.S. House. Over the last 100 years, Congress has given away or failed to perform the Article 1 powers of the Constitution. I will repeal all tariff authorizations given away over the last 100 years. I will repeal all resolutions and Authorizations to use military force currently in effect. I will only vote for balanced budgets. I will never vote to increase the debt ceiling, unless Congress has declared war. I will never take a political endorsement from a sitting President, as it compromises my ability to provide oversight of the executive branch. I will place country over political party and I will place policy over personality. Right now, the judicial branch is saving Congress from itself
