Bella Vista CIty Council WARd 2 Position 2
As a member of the Bella Vista City Council, I would be dedicated to representing our community's residents and making careful, well-considered decisions on issues that matter to all of us. This means reviewing and adopting ordinances, approving the city budget, and thoughtfully considering land use and development decisions. I would also be committed to helping shape the city's policies and priorities to ensure they reflect our shared values and needs.
My career has centered on people, communication, and service. As a former public school teacher, I learned to listen to different perspectives, communicate clearly, solve problems, and work collaboratively. As a Realtor, I help people navigate important decisions and find solutions when interests compete. As a City Council candidate, I have worked to understand how our city operates by meeting with city leaders and department directors and learning about planning, finance, infrastructure, public safety, and Bella Vista’s growth. I am prepared to listen, do my homework, ask difficult questions when needed, and work respectfully with others. I believe these skills, along with my love for Bella Vista would allow me to serve our community well.
One of my first priorities would be improving communication between residents and city government, especially as Bella Vista plans for growth and its future. Residents should understand what is being considered, why it matters, how it may affect their neighborhoods, and how they can provide input before decisions are made. I would encourage clear, timely communication about major issues, listening to residents, asking questions publicly, and making information easier to access. I also want us to plan ahead rather than react to growth after it occurs by considering roads, sewer, Police, Fire and EMS, traffic, neighborhoods, and our natural environment. We can protect what we love about Bella Vista while planning wisely for what comes next.
