I am running for City Council to be an accessible member that the constituents will know from my knocking on over 1000 doors over the past 2 years.
I believe in volunteering and I now seek to serve my fellow neighbors and friends as a City Council member. I believe we need to do a better job responding to residents concerns and requests for repairs to the city infrastructure. The City Council needs to do a better job of knowing what the average citizen is concerned about our city.
I have 35 years experience at two major corporations primarily as a District Manager responsible for budgets, repairs, hiring, marketing. This was for as many as 16 locations and up to 300 employees. I also ran a small business for 7+ years steadily building sales and a customer base.
Additionally, I have been knocking on doors, primarily in Place 6, speaking to several hundred residents regarding their concerns and issues.
So between my business experience and interactions with the community, I believe I’m very qualified for this office.
I will maintain a personal direct mobile phone as long as I hold the office as well as a city provided email.
I will also attempt to establish a group email to keep my constituents up to date.
The city is close to being fully developed. Great care needs to be considered regarding the use of the remaining available land.
I would like to see a grocery store return to the vicinity of North Colony Blvd and 423.
I am in general in favor of more residential development versus additional warehouses.
The city needs to improve long standing deteriorating roads, alleys and sidewalks.
Additionally, and what I believe is just as critical, is that contractors need to stay start to finish on repairs. They must not be allowed to tear up a street and then not return to complete the work for 2-3 months.
