I am a Captain on the Indianapolis Fire Department and hold a degree from Indiana University, Leadership Johnson County Graduate, husband and father of 3. I have served the city of Indianapolis for 18 years. I have seen first hand how a strong local government can help people in times of need and tradegy. I understand what it takes to serve others and want to bring that experience to my home community.
Taxpayer funds are a precious commodity. The Trustee shall maximize these resources and be accountable for them. We will ensure the responsible use of taxpayer funds through advertised monthly business meetings where the trustee is required to provide financial impact statements and advise the community and board of all expenditures.
We will be aid experts! We will be an information hub. The first place the community goes when they have a question. Johnson County has a vast assortment of aid organizations; we can be the first point of contact and help the community navigate the resources available to them. In times of tragedy and extreme hardships, we will step in and financially help our community members maintain the essentials. Food, shelter, transportation, and access to health care, including mental health.

I have spent hours with the trustee going over the duties of the trustee and board members. Living in White River Township for the past 26 years I have become familiar with the many wonderful charitable organizations that work together to make our community strong. I have served as a children's librarian for the past 24 years at the Greenwood Public Library and have been blessed to write grants and work collaboratively with community partners.
In my position on numerous boards and committees in our community, along with my work at the Greenwood Public Library and my church, I have overseen many budgets and grants.
I will faithfully attend meetings and go over budgets meticulously.

Throughout my career in technology consulting, I’ve managed teams, budgets, complex projects, and relationships with organizations across the country. That experience has taught me how to ask the right questions, evaluate competing priorities, manage resources responsibly, and work collaboratively toward a common goal. Locally, I’ve served as President of the Carefree Club Neighborhood Board and currently serve as Secretary of the Southeast Project Governance Board. I would bring that combination of professional leadership and community involvement to the Township Board.
I would approach the township budget the same way I approach budgets professionally: understand where the money is going, ask questions about the assumptions behind spending decisions, compare results against what was planned, and make sure expenditures support clear priorities. Responsible oversight isn’t simply about spending less; it’s about making sure taxpayer dollars are being used effectively. I also believe residents should be able to easily understand how their money is being spent, so transparency and clear communication would be priorities for me.
I don’t see collaboration and oversight as competing responsibilities. Good governance requires both. I would work to build a productive relationship with the Trustee based on open communication, clear expectations, and a shared commitment to serving White River Township. At the same time, Board members have an independent responsibility to ask questions, understand the reasoning behind proposals, and make informed decisions. My goal wouldn’t be to create unnecessary conflict or simply rubber-stamp decisions, but to be a thoughtful, engaged partner who provides meaningful oversight.

Along with my applied skills earned through my Master of Public Affairs at the O’Neill School of Public Affairs at Indiana University, I bring more than 20 years of experience in nonprofit, corporate, and public leadership. I have managed federal direct and state pass-through grants, so I have experience implementing fiduciary responsibility. I have also served on nonprofit boards including Growing Places Indy and Crooked Creek Community Development Corporation. Board service has allowed me to understand the need for targeted community impacts and the power of longitudinal economic investment. Similarly, the Board has a duty of care to White River to uphold financial stewardship while assisting our most vulnerable neighbors in need.
As both the legislative and the fiscal body, township trustee boards are custodians of local government revenues. Already, I have begun cursory budget reviews. In doing so, I’ve found the best tool one has—inquiry. I’ve never been one to shy away from asking tough questions. As a board member, I would review the Trustee’s past approved and current proposed budgets, contracts, and properties. In doing so, I’d work alongside fellow advisory board members to assess that allocations are in compliance with Indiana statute and that all financial appropriations are itemized, reasonable, allowable, necessary and well within the Township’s jurisdiction. To ensure accurate, timely reporting, it’d be imperative to file with State Board of Accounts.
I view the Trustee in cooperation with the Trustee Board as a team serving the residents of White River Township here in Center Grove. As a nonprofit boad member, I’ve always requested once a month one-on-ones with the executive team; I would want to continue this practice in this public role. Additionally, it is my hope there be two-way ongoing communications between the Board and the Trustee regarding state policy, pressing fiscal matters, and governance. Items requiring public input can be added by the trustee to budget and/or special meeting agendas for the board’s consideration. Together, White River Township elected officials can promote a more accountable, transparent, and responsive office to our fellow neighbors.
