Brief Intro - 250 characters I’m Garrett Gibson, a teacher, father, and lifelong Spartanburg County resident. I’m running to bring transparency and integrity back to local government and put our families and communities first.
I’m not enmeshed in the political and financial elite of Spartanburg County, so if that’s what counts for experience then I’m out. But if a life spent in education, ministry, and working alongside the people I hope to represent means anything, then I’m the most qualified candidate on the ballot.

Many would say I’m just a teacher from a yokel town living in a 900-square-foot house. But some would say that’s exactly what representation is supposed to look like.
1. Establish a District 5 municipal coordination table to ensure effective communication and county support throughout our towns and cities. 2. Repair and modernize roads, water, sewer, and other infrastructure so our communities aren’t overwhelmed by development. 3. Work with our municipalities and residents to establish sensible guidelines for zoning and development that preserve rural character while allowing appropriate growth.
Transparency, clarity, and communication with residents must be a priority. People should not have to be experts in government to understand what their county is doing or how it will affect them. I will provide clear, timely, accessible information about upcoming decisions, proposals, meetings, and county projects and establish a consistent process for addressing questions and concerns. Why? Because representation is just a word until residents can easily understand what’s happening, know how to participate, and feel that their concerns are being heard.
