The current education system in Michigan is astonishingly bad. Quality is through the floor, and funding is way to high.

Giving the education system to the free market would solve a lot of these issues. Keep the state out of education.
A lot of the higher cost of living in Michigan, and the wider country, is caused almost entirely by government involvement.

Get the government out of the free market and allow for more competition in the economy and you'll see prices drop and wages go up naturally. Lower taxes so people can actually keep the money they earn and spend it how they want.

Individuals living in a system will always know how to better spend their time and money within that system. The government trying to do things for you has never worked and continues to not work.

Free the free market.
Energy reliably is also achievable through just getting the government to stay out of it. Allow new competition into the market without red tape here and bureaucratic nonsense there.

This is basic supply and demand, if the demand is high and you artificially lower supply by hindering a suppliers ability to...well supply, then you get higher prices.

As for the environment, only those not burdened by high costs and oppressive laws can afford to care about the environment. You want to protect the environment then just free people economically, and you do that by freeing the free market.
Due process, freedom of speech and freedom of privacy are vital to the country.

As for non-citizens, it depends pretty heavily on if they are here legally or illegally.

Truthfully, eliminate the welfare state and reinstate freedom of association back to the people and whether someone is here legally or not doesn't really matter that much. So that's my stance on that.
