Our healthcare system in America is broken. Working people are not getting the care they need, and they are paying way too much. The One Big Beautiful Bill made a bad situation worse, gutting $1 trillion in Medicaid, driving premiums in Michigan up by 17%, and threatening to close 12 hospitals in Michigan. Step one to helping Americans is rolling those cuts back.

We need big, structural change. 1.) Let Medicare negotiate drug prices, which will drive down prices for consumers, 2.) Allow all Americans to buy into a public option, forcing insurance companies to compete with Medicare, and 3.) End healthcare monopolies
To begin, let’s end the reckless tariff policies and end the war in Iran. Then, we need to look forward. First, we put more money in people’s pockets. In the state Senate, we passed the largest tax cut for working families in state history, and now in Congress, I have a bill to give working parents a tax cut of $5,500 per kid per year. Then, we need to create good-paying jobs of the future by supporting local businesses, and incentivizing more high-tech manufacturing. Finally, we need to fix our broken health care, child care, and housing systems, so working families don’t need to pick between medicine, groceries, and raising a family.
Michigan families are drowning — choosing between heat, groceries, and medicine. We need to lower these costs now, so I wrote bills to restore utility assistance, fought to stop tax giveaways to big tech for data centers, and am working with both parties to end the war in Iran. Long-term, the best way to lower costs is to make more energy — clean power and nuclear, with less red tape — creating Michigan jobs and taking on China. In the State Senate, I helped lead Michigan's historic clean energy package, and in Congress I'm working to speed up new power projects, strengthen our grid, and make sure big energy users pay their fair share.
Our Constitutional rights are non-negotiable. We need to protect them - full stop. In addition, said, our immigration system is broken and not working for anyone. I share the commonsense immigration priorities of the vast majority of Americans: stop illegal border crossings and deport undocumented immigrants who commit violent crimes, fix our legal immigration system, and fund law enforcement to do their jobs while making sure they follow our Constitution.

Occupation / Current Position Retired
Education Kettering University studied industrial administration and then earned an MBA for Michigan State University
Qualifications and Experience I'm a retired GM engineer, Michigan State MBA, and small-business owner who co-founded Jar Head Salsa with my son, backed by decades of Michigan manufacturing experience.
I’ll slash the bureaucratic red tape driving up your premiums, expand Association Health Plans, and protect Health Savings Accounts to put patients back in charge.Kristen McDonald Rivet’s approach? Total government control and funding Medicare for All. She's proudly bankrolled by radical socialists demanding taxpayer-funded abortion up to the moment of birth and openly brags about forcing taxpayers to fund Planned Parenthood. Rivet doesn't care about making your family's prescriptions affordable or keeping your union health plan; she only cares about appeasing her extremist donors. I will fight for your family's health, not a socialist agenda
To fix this broken economy, we must make the OBBB Tax Cutspermanent, end runaway federal spending, and slash job-killing regulations. Instead, Kristen McDonald Rivet and socialist Abdul El-Sayed want to bleed Michigan dry. Rivet voted to block a $720 million middle-class tax cut, hiked water and electric rates on families, and sold off our local bridges to become toll roads—all before boosting her own pay. Together, Rivet and El-Sayed are championing an extreme, communist economic agenda that crushes working families with inflation to pay for their communist fever dreams. I'll cut your taxes; they will tax you into poverty.
I fully support an all-of-the-above energy strategy: keep Line 5 open, maximize American oil and gas, and end the Democrats' war on our auto industry. Meanwhile, Kristen McDonald Rivet has totally sold out Michigan to Communist China and radical environmentalists. She rammed through a 100% clean energy mandate that will double electric bills and shatter grid reliability. Worse, she handed $715 million to Gotion, a battery company tied to the Chinese Communist Party. Rivet’s blind loyalty to Beijing and the Green New Deal is a direct, undeniable threat to every single auto worker in our state.
Our Constitution is for American citizens, not a shield for illegal aliens. Due process for border-crossers means a swift hearing and immediate deportation. We must finish the wall and end catch-and-release. Kristen McDonald Rivet and radical Abdul El-Sayed want to turn Michigan into a magnet for illegal immigration. Rivet actively supports dangerous sanctuary cities and wants to use your tax dollars to provide free legal aid to undocumented immigrants. The Rivet-El-Sayed open-borders agenda imports violent crime and deadly fentanyl straight into our communities. It is an absolute disgrace, and we must stop them.

Education Philadelphia Police Academy
Qualifications and Experience I am not a career politician. My experience comes from public service, law enforcement, independent research, and digital publishing. As a former City Certified Police Officer and former Federal Polic
I support moving toward universal healthcare coverage while making the system more affordable and financially sustainable. In Congress, I would support using federal purchasing power to negotiate lower prescription prices, expanding affordable generic medicines, reducing administrative waste, addressing excessive consolidation in healthcare, and changing payment incentives to reward prevention, primary care, and quality outcomes rather than unnecessary services. My goal is universal access, lower prescription and out-of-pocket costs, and better-quality care for Michiganders.
I support policies that help Michiganders earn wages capable of supporting a household while reducing the costs that consume those earnings. In Congress, I would support skilled trades, apprenticeships, workforce retraining, American manufacturing, small businesses, entrepreneurship, and technology education. I would also address affordability through lower healthcare and prescription costs, housing opportunities, affordable energy, stronger competition, and consumer protection. I support reducing unnecessary federal regulations while expanding opportunities to work, build businesses, save, invest, and achieve greater financial security.
I would support modernizing Michigan's energy infrastructure through stronger transmission, a smarter interconnected grid, energy storage, efficiency, and affordable renewable energy while maintaining reliable electricity for families and businesses. I would support federal investment that strengthens the grid and creates American manufacturing jobs. Large new energy users should bear the infrastructure costs they create rather than shifting them to households. I would also protect Michigan's Great Lakes, freshwater, land, and natural resources while reducing pollution and supporting sustainable energy, manufacturing, and economic development
I believe the Constitution protects all Americans, including Michigan residents who are legal immigrants. I support due process and the First Amendment's protections for speech, religion, press, assembly, and petition, along with the Fourth Amendment's protection against unreasonable searches and seizures. In Congress, I would support legislation to strengthen warrant requirements for government surveillance and access to private digital, communications, and medical information, along with greater transparency, congressional oversight, and accountability when constitutional protections are violated.

Occupation / Current Position I’m a healthcare social worker. I teach people to advocate for themselves in a broken system.
Education Montrose, MI Public Schools-1980 graduate; Scholarships to Aquinas College-1984 graduate; U of Michigan-1986 graduate w/ Masters in Social Work plus Student Loan Debt, much like students today.
Qualifications and Experience I grew up in the Flint area, believing in working class solidarity. In high school we saw a Flint Sit Down Strike film. It opened my eyes that workers have power when we stand together.
I believe that healthcare is a basic human right. It is as important as food, water, shelter and education. I stand for the right to self-determination about one’s own body and one’s own healthcare decisions. In a decent society that provided for the working class, there would be healthcare for all, affordable housing and wonderful schools. But in this society, working families are robbed of the pay and social safety net necessary to live decently. Wrongly, the rulers of our society prioritize tax breaks and subsidies for the world’s wealthiest and prioritize constant wars, all of which generate obscene profits for Wall Street.
I think wages, pensions and disability payments need to automatically and immediately increase whenever prices increase. The world’s wealthiest corporations would not agree to this voluntarily. Their practice of price gouging increases their vast wealth at the expense of the rest of the population. Yet it is possible for the working class to organize and demand that the wealth created by the working population be used to provide all of us a decent life. Every factory needs more workers and a human pace. All healthcare needs more workers and more time spent with each patient. Each school needs more workers to spend more time with each student.
Energy rates in Michigan are unaffordable for working people and the appalling rate hikes never seem to end. Michigan’s largest public energy utilities are organized as for-profit monopolies with a number one priority of distributing wealth to their shareholders. I think that this is not a logical way to organize energy reliability, consumer affordability or environmental protection. I understand that it will be necessary for working people to come together and fight for a better system. In terms of environmental protection, I am all for renewable energy, under the control of the population who lives in the area where the energy is produced.
The 1st Amendment is the Right to Free Speech. I am for this right. I know history, and in times of war or “national crisis,” the Right to Free Speech will come under even more attack than we are seeing now. The right to Due Process/4th Amendment is about human beings have the right to be treated logically and fairly by government. It is wrong that immigrants and non-citizens are denied these rights. Working people can come together and fight to defend these rights for all! The world’s wealthiest billionaires are pushing down wages, are pushing this attack on rights, to boost their obscene profits. The billionaires’ scheme is to divide us.
