I am running for the EH BOE because I believe our schools benefit from board members who are closely connected to the day-to-day experiences of students and families. As the parent of a young son attending EH schools, I see firsthand how board decisions affect classrooms, communication, safety, and the overall student experience.
While no single issue prompted my candidacy, I believe there is an opportunity to strengthen transparency and communication between the district and families. Parents want to feel informed, heard, and engaged, particularly when decisions impact students, school facilities, safety, or taxpayer resources. Open communication builds trust and strengthens the partnership between families and the district.
I am also committed to keeping student safety a top priority and ensuring we continue to invest responsibly in school infrastructure so students can learn in safe, modern, and well-maintained environments.
As a PTA volunteer, I have seen the dedication of our educators, administrators, and families. I am running to bring the perspective of a current parent to the board and help ensure every decision is made with students' best interest at the center.
My professional and volunteer experiences have provided a strong foundation for serving on the Board of Education. I bring more than 20 years of leadership experience in communications, strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and crisis management. Throughout my career, I have collaborated across organizations, balanced competing priorities, and focused on achieving long-term goals.
A key part of my work involves communicating complex information clearly and transparently to diverse audiences. Those skills are directly relevant to board service, where communication, accountability, and public trust are essential.
As a PTA volunteer, I have gained valuable insight into the experiences of students, parents, teachers, and staff. This involvement has strengthened my understanding of our district's opportunities and challenges.
Most importantly, I am a current East Hanover school parent. I share the concerns and priorities of local families and believe my professional experience, community involvement, and commitment to our schools will help me serve as a thoughtful and effective board member.
Balancing these priorities requires thoughtful planning, responsible budgeting, and a commitment to long-term decision-making. Strong schools depend on talented educators, and retaining high-quality teachers should remain a priority because they have a direct impact on student success. At the same time, taxpayers deserve confidence that district resources are managed responsibly and efficiently.
I believe the Board of Education must carefully evaluate spending to ensure resources are directed toward initiatives that have the greatest impact on students. A disciplined budget process helps maintain educational quality while respecting the financial realities facing residents.
Teacher retention is about more than compensation. Educators are more likely to stay where they feel supported, valued, and equipped to succeed. Creating a positive environment for teachers ultimately benefits students and families.
My goal would be to support strong educational outcomes, retain excellent teachers, and ensure fiscal responsibility through careful planning, transparency, and a focus on maximizing value for both students and taxpayers.
Before advocating for curriculum changes, I believe it is important to review data, understand student outcomes, listen to educators, and evaluate existing programs. Curriculum decisions should be guided by evidence, educational best practices, and the needs of East Hanover students.
My focus is less on making immediate changes and more on ensuring the district regularly evaluates its curriculum to prepare students for future academic and career success. That includes maintaining strong core instruction, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and providing learning opportunities that help students thrive.
I support ongoing collaboration with teachers, administrators, and parents when reviewing curriculum effectiveness. Educators are closest to the classroom experience, and their insights are essential when assessing what is working and where improvements may be needed.
As a board member, my role would be governance, oversight, and strategic planning. My priority would be to review outcomes, ask thoughtful questions, and support decisions that advance student achievement and prepare every East Hanover student for success.

I am running because I believe parents and families who currently have children in our schools should have a strong voice in the future of our district. Our community is growing, and with that growth come changes and challenges that we need to plan for now, not react to later.
As a parent and an educator, I care deeply about what our children experience every day. I want to be involved in the decisions that will shape their education and our schools for years to come. I also believe there should be respectful, open dialogue between the Board and administration. We may not always agree, but we should listen to one another and work together.
I am not running because I have all the answers. I am running because I am willing to listen, ask questions, and make sure that when decisions are made, our children come first.
I bring 20 years of experience as an educator and a firsthand understanding of how decisions made at the district level affect teachers, students, and families in the classroom. I am familiar with the educational decision-making process and the laws and regulations that guide our schools.
I also come from a long line of educators, so education has always been an important part of my life.
My experience has taught me the importance of listening, communication, collaboration, and understanding different perspectives. As a Board member, I would value the voices of parents, teachers, administrators, and especially our students.
I believe my experience as an educator, combined with my perspective as a parent and community member, would allow me to bring a practical and balanced voice to the Board. Most importantly, I would approach each decision by asking what is best for our children and our community.
I think most parents want the same things: great teachers, a strong education for their children, and responsible use of their tax dollars. I believe we can work toward all three.
Teacher morale is extremely important to retaining good teachers, and it has been a topic of conversation, particularly during the 2025–26 school year. Teachers need to feel supported, respected, and valued.
At the same time, families are taxpayers, and we have a responsibility to be careful with every dollar. With our community growing and potential school expansion ahead, we need to make thoughtful decisions based on both our immediate needs and our long-term future.
I believe fiscal responsibility means looking for well-planned, sustainable solutions rather than short-term fixes. We should continually ask: Is this best for our students? Is it necessary? Is there a better way? And will this decision serve our community in the years ahead?
I would like to see a better balance between technology and hands-on, real-world learning. Technology and AI are going to be a major part of our children’s future, and I believe students should learn how to use these tools effectively, responsibly, and critically. At the same time, technology should not replace learning how to think, create, problem-solve, and work with others.
I would like to see more opportunities for practical and community-based learning, including age-appropriate life skills. Programs such as home economics, woodworking, financial literacy, cooking, and other hands-on experiences can teach children skills they will use throughout their lives.
Education should prepare children not only for the next grade, but for life beyond the classroom.
