I am a long-time user of the Garden City Public Library, as I have lived her my entire life. I utilized the library frequently as a child and as an adult have been volunteering at programs for 10+ years. Libraries are an invaluable resource for our communities and I want to ensure we continue to have high-quality access to one in Garden City.
A big concern for me is the rise in attempted censorship in libraries throughout the country. If elected, my intention is to fight against these attempts if they come to our city by supporting our library staff and refusing to vote in favor of any pro-censorship policies. Additionally, I intend to help in ensuring proper funding for the library so we are able to continue provide free programs for the community, as well as acquire a diverse range of books and materials for all members of the community.
