State representatives create and amend state laws, pass an annual state budget, and redraw district lines every 10 years.

I support secure, transparent, and accessible elections that protect every lawful ballot and every eligible voter’s right to participate. This includes strong cybersecurity, accurate voter rolls, secure voting equipment, transparent audits, and adequate funding for election offices. I support accessible polling locations, early voting, curbside voting, and clear voter education. Special attention must be given to seniors, individuals with disabilities, and rural residents facing transportation barriers. I also support protections against voter intimidation, consistent election procedures, and timely public information. Election security and voter accessibility must work together to ensure every lawful vote is accurately counted.
I support expanding access to affordable, quality healthcare for low-income South Carolinians through Medicaid expansion, increased funding for rural hospitals and community health centers, and improved access to preventive care, mental health services, and affordable prescription medications. I support strengthening maternal healthcare, expanding telehealth services, and addressing transportation barriers that prevent families and seniors from receiving timely care. I also support increasing healthcare workforce incentives in underserved communities and simplifying enrollment in available health coverage programs. No South Carolinian should be denied essential healthcare because of income, geographic location, or lack of transportation.
I support meaningful regulations for large data centers in South Carolina, particularly near the V.C. Summer Nuclear Station, where completion of two additional reactors is reportedly being considered. Regulations should require comprehensive environmental and infrastructure impact studies, strict water-use limits, transparent energy agreements, and protections against shifting data center costs to residential customers. Developers should fund necessary infrastructure, provide financial guarantees, and establish emergency preparedness plans. Independent assessments must examine cumulative impacts on water resources, public safety, and utility rates. Local communities deserve transparency, meaningful input, and measurable economic benefits.
