Candidate For Office Marsha Cassel for Vermont State House of Representatives
I think the most valuable skills I bring are those that I have acquired in my mediation practice: the ability to allow that multiple things can be true at the same time, to be able to sit in discomfort long enough to work through it with others, to be able to disagree with someone with out abandoning my core values and without denigrating the other party. I can model how to disagree "better."
Property tax reform--reimagining the way education is paid for Universal Health care--reducing the cost
I respect the work that regional planning commissions have done to identify and encourage growth in more densely populated areas. The permitting process must be more efficient and less expensive. Locally, our branch of Habitat for Humanity (which is trying to scale some tiny houses) is property tax headwinds that they had not experienced before. Organizations that are trying to be a part of the solution should not be hampered.
