Description of office: The General Assembly is the legislative branch of government in Pennsylvania. It is composed of two houses: the Senate is the upper house, and the House of Representatives is the lower house. A majority vote in both houses is necessary to pass a law. The PA Senate consists of 50 members, representing one district each, with an equal number of constituents. Senators must be at least 25 years old, have been a citizen and a resident of the state four years and a resident of their respective districts one year before their election, and shall reside in their respective districts during their terms of service. The Senate develops budget packages, makes taxation decisions, allocates spending, and passes laws (including redistricting in collaboration with the House of Representatives). In addition, the Senate tries officials impeached by the House and authorizes executive appointments. The most pressing question is can families build a good life here in the PA 50. A good life meansaccess to healthcare close to home, strong public schools, good-paying jobs, affordable housing, and communities where working families and seniors are not carrying an unfair share of the tax burden.
I will strengthen the healthcare workforce with grants for advanced education, and fight for state funding that stabilizes the income of rural hospitals. I realize education is an investment not a burden, I support fair funding, programs that help students enter the workforce, and special eduction to prepare all for life in the PA50. Minimum wage needs increased and tax loopholes need closed.

Yes, I believe the state has a responsibility to address the broader impacts of large-scale data centers, particularly their demands on water, electricity, and land. Any statewide legislation should be carefully written and should not undermine the authority of municipalities under the Municipalities Planning Code to make local land-use and zoning decisions.I would support statewide standards focused on issues that extend beyond municipal boundaries, restricting tax abatements, securing energy-grid reliability, water-resource protection, environmental impacts, transparency regarding resource consumption, and ensuring that existing residents and businesses are not unfairly burdened with infrastructure costs created by large developments.
