Oklahoma House District 1

Oklahoma's Legislature is composed of a Senate and a House of Representatives. There are 101 House districts and in 1991, terms of office were limited to 12 years.A member of the House of Representatives must be at least 21 years of age and must be a resident of the representative district. A candidate with a party affiliation must have been registered in that party in the district 6 months prior to the filing period. An Independent must have been a registered voter in the district for 6 months prior to the filing period. Representatives serve two-year terms.There are only candidates for a single party for this election. The winner of this primary election will be the next Oklahoma State Representative for this district. As Oklahoma is a closed primary state, only voters registered in the candidates' party will cast ballots in this primary election.If no single candidate has a majority, the two candidates with the most votes will head to a primary run-off election in August. Only voters registered in the candidates' party will cast ballots in this run-off election.

I decided to run because I got tired of seeing regular folks feel like they weren't being heard. As a farmer and rancher, I know the value of hard work, faith, and taking care of your neighbors. I want to be a voice for the people of District 1 and make sure Oklahoma stays a place where families, farmers, and small businesses can thrive.
We need to create an Oklahoma where young people can build a career, afford a home, and raise a family without feeling like they have to leave the state. That starts with supporting good-paying jobs, strengthening career and technical education, expanding opportunities in agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare, and skilled trades, and reducing unnecessary regulations that hold businesses back. We should also encourage entrepreneurship and keep Oklahoma affordable, so our young professionals choose to build their future here.
I will support legislation that keeps the focus on student success by strengthening core academics, supporting teachers, and giving local schools the resources they need to succeed. I believe in returning to the basics reading, writing, math, and civics while expanding career and technical education so students are prepared for college, the workforce, or the trades. Every child deserves access to a quality public education, and I believe decisions are best made as close to the classroom as possible by parents, teachers, and local school districts.
Oklahoma's economy is strongest when it's diversified and built on a solid foundation. We should continue supporting agriculture, energy, manufacturing, small businesses, and entrepreneurship while reducing unnecessary regulations that discourage growth. Investing in workforce development, expanding career and technical education, and maintaining a responsible state budget will help Oklahoma remain resilient during national economic downturns.
