Personal Biography
McLouth High School graduate 1992. Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Kansas in 1996. Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas in 2001. I was a prosecutor for about 13 years in Kansas City, Kansas; Leavenworth County; and the Kansas Attorney General's Office. I was in private practice for about seven years at the Bryant Law Offices primarily in Leavenworth. I've been married for almost 15 years and have three daughters.

I have practiced as both a prosecutor and defense attorney. I'm able to see both sides of an argument. I've also done a large amount of appellate work and am familiar with issues that can arise during an appeal.
At this time, I primarily handle a civil docket. However, I do also still handle some criminal matters. The rights of the accused are very well-defined by case law, statutes, and the State and US Constitutions. Following the law is the easiest way to protect those rights. As a threshold matter, justice generally comes in the form of a decision made by the trier of fact (either the jury or a judge). However, depending on your position regarding the case justice may look very different.
I believe the best way that the court can promote a feeling of justice is to try my best to ensure that all parties feel that they had a fair opportunity to be heard and present their case without bias or prejudice to either party.
