My family and the community. I am a local advocate for human rights of many different kinds, but especially for Black people. I am a union sheet metal worker and local artist/muralist/teaching artist. All of these “titles/positions” prepared me to not only stand up for my community and communicate our disparities, marginalization, and needs. But to be transparent and hold the powers accountable for doing the job of loving and caring for your community, using tax dollars responsibly and effectively, and making sure we’re not causing more disparities, treating people with humanity, and dignity, while passing policy and working with committees and the community on what they need the most.
Access & resource.
Help the communities with affordability(childcare, grants, healthcare, transportation, food, utilities etc.)
Tackle housing and homelessness in humane ways, not just locking people up and raising property taxes unaffordable amounts.
Help Building local businesses that bring in tax revenue to help the county and districts with money allocating and helps build/strengthen community keeping people here while inviting more to move here
Addressing the effects of redlining in this county and introducing policy that combats those effects and brings forth progress & growth.
