Each senator is elected to a six-year term serving the people of this specific state. Among other duties, senators introduce bills and resolutions, offer amendments and serve on committees. The Constitution sets three qualifications for service in the U.S. Senate: age (at least thirty years of age); U.S. citizenship (at least nine years); and residency in the state a senator represents at time of election. The winner of the runoff election will appear on the ballot for the general election in November.

The chaos in Washington and the danger of the demise of democracy motivated me to run. As a civil rights lawyer I have great respect for the rule of law which the Executive Branch is treating as a mere suggestion.
The greatest challenge is the lack of checks and balances between the three branches of government. I will ensure Congress is proactive and independent in execution of its responsibilities.
The role of government is stated in the Preamble to the Constitution, principally to provide for the general welfare and work toward the stability, growth, and protection of the areas listed above in cooperation with state and local government.
As a civil rights lawyer, and CEO of Goodwill Central Oklahoma I understand the importance of this issue and will support raising the minimum wage and ensuring the Department of Labor investigates and prosecutes wage theft in all its forms.
