I was born and raised in Elmira. I retired in 2011 from the City of Elmira Police Department after 24 years of service, the last six years as Chief of Police. My years of service as a police officer have prepared me in countless ways for the responsibilities of elected office. Policing is much more than enforcing laws. It is about serving people, listening to their concerns, making difficult decisions, solving problems, and accepting responsibility for the decisions you make. Those same principles are essential to effective public service. I have worked with people from every walk of life and faced situations that require sound judgment, patience, compassion, and professionalism. I know who to talk to and how to get things done.
My priorities will be straightforward, as they always have been. Helping constituents, being a responsible steward of taxpayers' money, and working to create a vibrant, safe, and prosperous community.
