I have been working in K-12 and higher education and related fields for over 15 years. I am a New York State Licensed Psychologist and Behavior Analyst, a Nationally Certified School Psychologist, and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral (BCBA-D). I currently serve as an Assistant Professor and the Program Coordinator of the Master of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis graduate program and the Assistant Director of the Center for Autism Advocacy: Research, Education, and Supports (CAARES) at SUNY Empire State University in Saratoga Springs. I previously served as the Program Director at the Ivymount School in Maryland, where we used an interdisciplinary model to educate K-12 Autistic and Neurodivergent students.
I am passionate about ensuring that every student in the Saratoga Springs City School District develops a love of learning, is included, and knows they are a valued member of their school and wider community. Only when students can be their authentic selves can they thrive academically and socially. As a professional in education and more recently as a parent of a child who attends SSCSD, I believe that the value of public education cannot be understated - it is foundational in the lives of our students, families, and communities. I have experience serving in a variety of leadership roles in K-12 and higher education as well as in professional organizations. I am eager to employ my expertise and experience in education in support of SSCSD.
For a district like SSCSD, continually analyzing and aiming to address equity gaps is essential to ensure every student feels included and welcome in their schools and has access to the same educational opportunities.

As a trustee, my responsibility would be to SSCSD students first and foremost - to maintain accountability for their performance and well-being.

However, all constituencies are critical in ensuring the effective and efficient functioning of the SSCSD, in a manner that aligns to the district’s goals and vision and the state and federal education laws. The role of teachers and staff are central in the design and delivery of high quality, equitable, and inclusive education and should be done in collaboration with parents/guardians and with the support and oversight of administration. Finally, I commit to act in a manner that promotes transparent and accountable decision-making and maintains trust with constituencies.
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to these questions and introduce myself.
I was elected to the board of education in 2023. During my first term as a trustee, and currently as Vice President of the Board, I have worked hard to serve our district with dedication and integrity. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Professor of Counseling at SUNY Adirondack, where I serve as Chair of the Counseling Division. I have dedicated my professional life to helping individuals feel more connected and resilient in the face of life’s challenges. The work I do requires patience, empathy, active listening, and collaboration. I bring all of these qualities to my service as a trustee.
Over the course of my career, I have worked closely on issues that mirror those we hear about now: students' increased social and emotional needs, rising mental health needs, school safety, and teacher burnout. I'm committed to supporting students, educators, and families by providing the resources teachers need to do their best work and helping students feel safe and connected in their school environment. As an incumbent, I am familiar with the commitment it takes to be an effective board member. I welcome the responsibility and look forward to serving a second term.
Upstate NY public schools face declining enrollments. And while enrollments are declining, students' needs are increasing. This challenge requires careful planning and a commitment to our educators and students to protect services and programs that address the diverse needs of the children in our district.

Public education does not exist in isolation—it is a shared experience shaped by the needs, values, and expectations of all five constituencies. Effective governance depends on a board’s ability to listen to, balance, and thoughtfully respond to each of these groups without losing sight of its ultimate purpose: ensuring student success.
I am a reflective board member who values diverse perspectives and stands firmly in my convictions. I have found my time on the board to be deeply meaningful and rewarding. I am honored to serve our students, educators, and community for a second term.
I am a retired teacher with over 30+ years of experience in the classroom. I am dedicated to public education and have been active as a mentor and a field supervisor of pre-service teachers. I am also a National Board Certified teacher, as well as, a New York State Master Teacher emeritus.
I enjoy working in schools. I believe that schools are important in producing good citizens in our community. I think that volunteering to be part of guiding our schools is wonderful opportunity.
I want every person at school to be welcomed and supported in their role at school.

Students are the most important group at school. The other constituencies must come to consensus about what is best for the students.
I am supported by the Saratoga Springs Teachers Association.
