Occupation / Current Position Physician Assistant
Education Bachelor of Science in Health Science, Masters of Physician Assistant Studies
Qualifications and Experience Lifelong resident of the 109th district. I have been working in direct patient care as a PA for over 20 years.
I support adjustments to funding allocation, using a combination of per-pupil funding and additional weighted funding formulas to better support rural/underserved public schools. I support teacher recruitment and retention efforts that focus on better pay, benefits, and retirement, as well as incentives for teaching in areas of need. We can further improve the quality of education by refocusing our priorities away from standardized testing as a measure of student achievement and teacher merit. I support investments in school safety, student mental health, literacy programs, and universal school meals.
Michigan families need an economy that works for them. I support raising wages, protecting collective bargaining rights, strengthening unions, and expanding apprenticeship and skilled trades programs so more residents can access good-paying careers. To address affordability, we must invest in the workforce and affordable housing, expand first-time homebuyer assistance, and crack down on corporate speculation that drives up housing costs. I also support small businesses and local entrepreneurs, investing in infrastructure and establishing commonsense guardrails on AI to protect jobs, privacy, and workers as technology evolves.
We need an energy policy that balances reliability, affordability, and environmental protection. I support holding utility companies accountable by tying rate increases to measurable improvements in reliability and infrastructure. We should invest in grid modernization, local energy resilience, and clean energy projects that lower long-term costs and strengthen energy independence on a timeline that works for our communities. We must protect our natural resources by holding polluters accountable, investing in conservation and outdoor recreation, and promoting sustainable growth that protects our forests, public lands, and clean water.
I believe the constitutional rights guaranteed by the First, Fourth, and Fourteenth Amendments must be respected for everyone in Michigan. State and local law enforcement should focus on keeping our communities safe while building trust with the people they serve. I support clear policies that ensure law enforcement follows constitutional protections, respects civil liberties, and treats all individuals fairly under the law. Michigan should uphold public safety while protecting the rights and dignity of every resident.
