We have dedicated school employees and students with a ton of potential. Public education is the backbone of our communities, and protecting it starts with proper, equitable, long term, and predictable funding. Schools need budgets completed on time so they can plan responsibly and meet the needs of students and staff. Local control is essential the people closest to our schools understand their challenges best and should be given the decisions in how those challenges are best solved. The board of education’s role should be to offer informed recommendations and act as a resource for the community and its schools.
Wages haven’t kept up with costs in Michigan. I support strong pathways from high school into trades, college, the workforce, military service, and entrepreneurship so students can earn a real living. We must reform the 2008 and 2014 utility laws that let monopolies raise residential rates. I support creating MiCare for affordable healthcare. And no state subsidies should go to businesses that don’t pay a living wage.
I support stronger reliability standards for utilities, modernizing the grid, and expanding local energy generation. To keep bills fair, we must reform the 2008 and 2014 laws that let monopolies shift costs onto residents. For environmental protection, I support expanding renewables, making home solar accessible and diversified... improving efficiency, and safeguarding our air, water, and Great Lakes.
All people on US soil deserve due process. We don't need changes to the constitution it is very clear.

Affordability is best addressed through free market competition.
1) Repeal PA 233 et al, so our utility bills stop increasing.
2) Expand earned income tax credit
3) Lower the state income tax to attract jobs - therefor increasing employment opportunities and wages.
4) Better price transparency in health care.
The reason our utility bills have increased is because of the renewable energy mandates in PA 233 (which I have voted to repeal).
Let the market decide. If you want renewable energy, there should be an option on your electric choice.
First Amendment: I'm not sure how this relates to immigration, but I support closing the border. Of course I support citizen's right to protest and free speech.
Fourth Amendment: We should ban flock cameras.
Deportation proceedings are civil, not criminal. Non-citizens receive notice of the charges and an opportunity to be heard appropriate to the circumstances. It is up to the immigrant (regardless of legal status) to remain in contact with the court.
Immigrants have the right to a hearing before an immigration judge and have the right to counsel—but at their own expense.
