Qualifications and Experience I bring years of experience in public service, constituent services, community engagement, and state government to this position. Before being elected, I worked in the Michigan Legislature helping res
Michigan must continue investing in strong public schools while addressing educator shortages and inequities between districts. I support competitive educator pay, fully funding special education, mental health resources, literacy, career and technical education, and pathways to college and skilled trades. Standardized testing can provide useful data, but it should never be the sole measure of a student, educator or school. Every child, regardless of ZIP code, deserves a high-quality education, and every educator deserves the resources and respect necessary to provide it.
Affordability means ensuring working people can build a stable life in Michigan. I support strong wages, earned sick time, protections against wage theft, affordable housing and child care, and policies that lower the costs families cannot avoid, including utilities and health care. We must also support small businesses and attract good-paying jobs while demanding accountability from companies receiving public incentives. Someone who works hard should be able to afford a home, raise a family, handle an emergency and retire with dignity.
Michigan’s energy policy must keep the lights on, keep bills affordable and protect our environment. I support stronger utility accountability, grid modernization, energy efficiency and continued investment in cleaner energy. As electricity demand grows, particularly from data centers, residential customers should not subsidize the costs created by large users. Through my work on Natural Resources and Great Lakes issues, I have also made protecting our water a priority. Michigan can pursue reliability, affordability and environmental stewardship together.
I believe constitutional rights and the rule of law must be applied consistently. Due process, freedom of speech and protections against unreasonable searches and seizures are foundational American principles. Immigration is primarily a federal responsibility, but Michigan should ensure residents are treated lawfully and can report crimes, attend school and access essential services. I support comprehensive federal immigration reform that creates an orderly, functional system, protects public safety and respects both the law and human dignity.
