Michigan's education system delivers excellent outcomes for some students but leaves many others behind. As a member of the Board of Trustees at Michigan Technological University and a parent of two children receiving special education services, I've seen the opportunities and challenges students face. We must fully fund special education, strengthen support for at-risk students, and address the teacher shortage through better pay and retention efforts. Standardized tests can be useful diagnostic tools, but they often fail to capture student growth and potential.
Every Michigander should be able to thrive, not just survive. We can improve affordability by lowering utility costs and reducing hidden fees that increase everyday expenses. We also need more affordable housing by building more homes and expanding opportunities for homeownership. Expanding career and technical education, apprenticeships, and other debt-free training opportunities will connect people to good-paying jobs, while protecting workers' right to organize helps ensure wages keep pace with the cost of living and economic growth benefits working families.
Michigan doesn't have to choose between reliable energy, affordable utility bills, and a clean environment. We can achieve all three. We should invest in modernizing the electric grid and improving energy storage to keep power reliable during storms and periods of high demand. To keep costs affordable, utility companies should be held accountable for reliability and customer service, and rate increases should receive strong oversight. We should also strengthen programs that help seniors, veterans, and low-income families afford their energy and water bills.
As a first generation American and military mom, I understand both the opportunities our country provides and the importance of protecting constitutional rights. Due process, free speech, and protection from unreasonable searches and seizures are fundamental American values. I oppose racial profiling, warrantless searches, and efforts to use local law enforcement as federal immigration agents. We can have secure borders while treating people with dignity, respecting the Constitution, and ensuring fair treatment under the law.

Qualifications and Experience Mother, business owner, former healthcare staffing executive, downtown development leader, and varsity soccer coach with experience managing businesses, strengthening communities, and mentoring youth.
As a mom and girls soccer coach, I want every child prepared to succeed. I support strong reading and math instruction, early help for struggling students, and more skilled-trades opportunities. Funding should be fair and focused on classrooms, with support to recruit and retain good teachers. Testing should identify learning gaps without taking over the school year. Parents deserve a voice in their children’s education.
As a mom and small business owner, I know families need more money back in their pockets. I support cutting property taxes, curbing utility rates, and lowering health care costs through transparent hospital pricing. I will work to stop Wall Street corporations from buying up homes and prevent companies from using personal data to charge people higher grocery prices. I also believe in supporting small businesses and apprenticeships will help create more good-paying jobs.
Families deserve reliable power, lower bills, and clean air and water. I support holding utilities accountable for outages and unjustified rate increases, strengthening our grid, and maintaining a practical mix of energy sources to prevent future brownouts. I will fight to restore local control and stop data centers from being forced on our communities by enacting a moratorium in order to put guardrails in place to protect our communities. Developers should pay their own infrastructure costs, compensate the community appropriately, and residents deserve the final say in projects affecting their land and water.
Enforcing immigration laws and protecting public safety must go hand in hand with respecting constitutional rights. I support clear enforcement standards and accountability, and I would oppose changes that weaken these protections. Government must follow the law and treat people with dignity.
