An absolute failure. only 27% of children can read grade level. We need to give the kids the skills they need to survive and thrive in this world. All "WOKE"and DEI teaching needs to stop. (It is divisive and confusing the children). K-12 needs to be skill orientated, helping to grow and build a child's strengths and skill sets. We need to bring back: woodshop class, auto mechanics, home ec, have classes in agriculture, tech classes, even as elective classes. This way the children can hone their skills from K-12, and see what they may be good at in life. I would also like see small businesses classes and (pre) trade school classes.
Affordability in Michigan does not exist right now; because of high utility costs, high taxes, high insurance cost, high housing and rental cost, a lot of people are struggling and barely keeping their heads above water. Before anyone can have a true living wage, we must first rein in these out of control costs of living in Michigan. How we got here, in 2023 the state legislature, strictly along party lines passed PA 233, the so-called green energy bill, and by doing so, it has doubled our utility costs. On Day 1, when I am elected, it is my priority to repeal PA 233, bringing utility cost back down. Next will be property tax elimination
As mentioned previously. The repeal of PA 233 will restore affordabilty of utilities as well as new legislature demanding a roll back of the recent rate increases, will bring our power bills back to affordability. Natural Gas is our most abundant, reliable, and was our cheapest source of energy in Michigan. We need to get back to a common sense energy policy. Thousands of trees and countless acres of farmland have been destroyed in Michigan, by foolhardy politicans who voted for PA 233. Which also was a power grab to take away local zoning on solar and wind. Taking away your vioce in what happens in your own community.
Our Constitution is for American Citizens, not for foriegn invaders, who knowingly break our laws by entering our country illegally. I am for legal immigration and following the rules. As far as due process goes, if someone enters our country illegally, breaking our laws, they get deported. We are suppose to be a nation of law and order. These protests against deporting illegals, I would equate to a scenerio like this: "Someone robs a bank and is arrested, then a group of people protest, saying: Gee, why not let them keep the money they stole". The influx of illegals under Biden has cost many innocent American lives, rapes, murders, etc
