Michigan has made progress in literacy and career readiness, but our education system must continue evolving. Today’s students need more than memorization—they need critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and the ability to adapt in a rapidly changing world shaped by technology and AI. We must better support teachers with professional pay, classroom support, and less bureaucracy. I also support smaller class sizes in early grades, stronger mental health resources, and expanded pathways with individualized plans for students whether they pursue college, the skilled trades, military service, entrepreneurship, or other career paths.
The middle class is shrinking, and for many families the American Dream feels harder to reach. I support policies that lower everyday costs, including housing, healthcare, insurance, utilities, and food, while creating more opportunities for workers and small businesses to grow. That includes supporting local farms, entrepreneurship, workforce development, and pathways to upward mobility. I also support tying business tax incentives to real results, not promises or political favors, so companies receiving taxpayer support are investing in workers and communities. We must focus on rebuilding a strong middle class in Michigan.
Michigan families deserve reliable and affordable energy, especially when utility costs continue rising while service reliability remains poor. I support greater transparency and accountability for utility companies and limiting the influence of corporate money in politics. I also support expanding energy independence for homes and communities through local energy generation and storage. Michigan’s lakes, farmland, and natural resources are part of what makes our state special, and we must protect them from PFAS, pollution, and threats to the Great Lakes, including Line 5.
Constitutional rights and due process must apply equally to everyone in the United States, including noncitizens. I support stronger protections against unlawful searches, government overreach, and unchecked surveillance or data collection through technologies like AI tracking and license plate camera systems. Law enforcement and immigration systems must follow constitutional standards, including warrants, probable cause, and fair treatment under the law. When rights are selectively applied or weakened for convenience, we put everyone’s freedoms at risk.

The State of Michigan overall educational standards are trending at the bottom 10% nationally. We need to prioritize reading and give the tools teachers need to teach in the classrooms without adding regulations. We need to hold the Department of Education, specific school districts, teachers, students, parents and leadership accountable. We need to consolidate districts, close failing districts and properly allocate resources so the funding actually goes to teachers and students in the classrooms.
Reduce taxes: income tax, property taxes, gas tax, corporate taxes, personal property taxes. We need to create an economic friendly environment with better schools and roads which will attract and retain talent. The goal would be to ultimately increase population which will create backfill for tax reductions and increased funding for our schools.
Retract legislation enacted in 2023 which mandated unsustainable green energy mandates at the cost of the consumer. Invest in infrastructure for reliability.
I believe in due process which limits the governments power to enact laws that infringe upon our constitutional rights. I support legal non-citizens who participate, integrate and contribute into the system and make our state and communities stronger. I support and believe in the 1st and 4th amendment's which protect our individual liberty and personal privacy and protects us from government overreach, any additional legislative changes would inherently erode the intent and ultimately our rights.
