In Michigan, a child's zip code should not determine the quality of their education — but right now, it does. Wealthy districts benefit from higher property tax bases, newer facilities, and better-resourced classrooms, while low-income communities are left with crumbling schools, outdated textbooks, and teacher vacancies they can't fill. I will fight to overhaul Michigan's school funding formula so that state dollars follow student need, not neighborhood wealth.
The cost of living in Michigan keeps rising — rent, groceries, gas, childcare — but wages haven't kept up. I supports raising the state minimum wage to $17/hour. Michigan's workers deserve more than to be left behind as corporations flourish. I will also fight to raise the income tax rate on corporations.
Protecting our Great Lakes is not an option. Nothing is worth the risk of destroying our greatest access to fresh water in this country. I will fight to protect all of Michigan's natural resources from Data Centers and Industrial development. It is time to put our environment ahead of corporate profits.
Abolish ICE. Constitutional Rights belong to ANYONE on US soil.
