Occupation / Current Position Clinical Psychologist, University of Michigan School of Social Work Lecturer, Former State Rep
Education Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Masters in Clinical Social Work, B.A. in Sociology and Anthropology
Qualifications and Experience My experience as a two-term state rep, clinical psychologist, member of local government, small business owner, and public servant has shown me the impact that profound policy can have on real lives.
I’ve sponsored bills requiring schools to maintain 1 counselor per 250 students, consider a student’s living situation before suspension or expulsion, and appoint an independent decision-maker regarding disciplinary actions. I helped pass free breakfast and lunch for all students. We need to support post-secondary pathways including both career and technical training, make college more affordable and create incentives for young people to stay in Michigan after graduation, focus on teacher retention, and reevaluate our funding structure for equity across individual schools.
In 2023, I helped pass an expansion of the Earned Income Tax Credit, putting hard-earned money back in the pockets of Michiganders. I also helped roll back the pension tax so working Michiganders weren't penalized at retirement, and voted in favor of investing tens of millions of dollars into affordable housing. To lower the cost of living, we can expand access to affordable childcare, reduce the cost of prescription drugs, and prevent utility companies from imposing astronomical rate hikes. I support ensuring fair pay for direct care workers, expanding public transportation options, and making college more affordable.
We need to promote clean energy, both to address the rising cost of energy, and diversify our economy with high paying union jobs. That’s why I voted in favor of Michigan’s 100% renewable energy standard by 2040. Towards environmental protection, we need to ban tar sealants that contaminate water systems, replace lead pipes across the state to ensure clean drinking water for everyone, promote clean energy and job training to prepare Michigan's workforce for a greener economy, and contain and reduce the impact of PFAS and 1,4 Dioxane contamination. I support a ratepayer bill of rights and holding utility companies accountable.
As a State Representative, I was a supporter of the Drive Safe Legislation, which proposed allowing undocumented people to obtain licenses in the state of Michigan. More recently, I have voiced my support for the Michigan Supreme Court decision that prohibits ICE agents from entering courtrooms. I have always supported legislation and decisions that allow undocumented people to live without fear of ICE. As a State Senator, I would support MI Senate Bills 508–510, bills that protect individual privacy and designate schools, hospitals, and places of worship as protected spaces.

Occupation / Current Position Software Engineering
Education Bachelor of Arts, Vocal Performance
Qualifications and Experience Senior leadership positions in software. Chairman, Washtenaw County GOP; Precinct Delegate. Bringing leadership, technical expertise, and grassroots advocacy to the Michigan Senate.
Michigan's education outcomes lag despite per-pupil funding above the national average, pointing to spending priorities and efficiency issues rather than a lack of resources (44th nationally in 4th-grade reading, NAEP 2024, ~25% proficiency).

Teacher shortages and high turnover persist, especially in special education. Standardized testing offers data but often promotes "teaching to the test" over critical thinking and core skills.

We should focus on phonics-based reading, math mastery, and strong academics. Parental rights, curriculum transparency, removing ideological content. Expand school choice to foster competition and better results.
I support pro-growth policies that expand opportunity and lower costs rather than government mandates. To help residents earn higher wages, I favor cutting income and property taxes, reducing regulatory burdens on small businesses, and reforming occupational licensing to make it easier to start and grow careers.

Increase housing supply by cutting red tape that drives up building costs. Promote workforce training through vocational programs, apprenticeships, school choice. Lower energy costs with reliable, affordable sources and restrain government spending. These market-driven steps will raise real wages and make MI affordable again!
I support an energy strategy prioritizing reliability, affordability, & practical environmental protection. Maintain & expand reliable baseload power from nuclear & clean fossil fuels, while allowing renewables to compete without costly mandates. Oppose green energy requirements that have raised our electricity rates above the national average. Streamline permitting for new infrastructure. Focus efforts on innovation, technology, conservation, & market incentives rather than rigid regulations that increase costs for families & businesses. This balanced approach ensures reliable, affordable energy while protecting our environment & economy.
All individuals in Michigan, including non-citizens, are entitled to due process, First Amendment free speech rights, and Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable searches and seizures.

I support upholding these constitutional rights while strictly enforcing immigration laws. Non-citizens have no right to illegal presence or taxpayer benefits. I favor efficient due process in removal proceedings, ending sanctuary policies, and prioritizing deportation of criminal non-citizens. Enforce federal law at every level and secure our borders.

This approach protects public safety, resources, and the rule of law for all Michigan residents.
