The Treasurer serves as the custodian for funds of most county departments. Departments deposit their funds with the treasurer who invests these monies, along with tax collections, to generate additional revenues for the county in the form of interest earnings.The Treasurers' Office collects real, personal, motor vehicle and other taxes and oversees their disbursement to county government, municipalities, schools and maintains records of all revenues collected.NOTE: If a candidate's answers are not visible, the candidate may not have completed the survey prior to our publication date. Qualifications
Having grown up in a business environment, owned businesses myself, worked for more than 20 years in the insurance industry and law enforcement, I bring strong financial, management, and public service experience to the role of Jasper County Treasurer.
Education
Degree in Business Administration and LUTCF designation in Financial Services and Life Underwriting
I believe taxpayers deserve accurate, transparent, and accountable financial management. I would strengthen internal controls, support regular audits, and ensure accounts are reconciled promptly to maintain accuracy and efficiency. I also believe residents should have easy access to clear financial information and responsive customer service from theTreasurer’s Office. My goal is to manage county finances with integrity while using modern systems and responsible practices to better serve the people of Jasper County.
I will ensure county funds are managed responsibly by strictly following state and local laws, maintaining strong financial oversight and promoting transparency in every transaction. Through accurate record keeping, regular audits, and clear communication with County Council and the public, I will work to protect taxpayer dollars and ensure funds are distributed properly, efficiently and for their intended purpose.
My goal is to improve the efficiency, transparency, and customer service of the Treasurer’s Office by reducing wait times, improving online payment services, expanding operating hours to match other county government services, and increasing access for residents in the southern portion of the county. I also want to ensure the office operates with professionalism, accountability, and responsible management of taxpayer dollars.
