My top priorities are improving communication and transparency within city government, ensuring fiscal responsibility, and developing a community-driven strategic plan that reflects the priorities of the residents of Williston. I believe the community deserves clear communication, open decision-making, and leadership that listens to residents while planning responsibly for the future.
One of the biggest challenges facing the City of Williston is balancing continued growth and long-term sustainability while maintaining public trust and financial stability. As our community continues to evolve, the City must ensure that infrastructure, public services, housing, workforce development, and economic growth all move forward together in a coordinated and responsible way.

I believe addressing this challenge starts with improved communication, transparency, and long-term planning.
Addressing housing needs in Williston requires a balanced approach that focuses on affordability, workforce availability, infrastructure capacity, and long-term community planning. Housing is directly connected to economic development, workforce retention, public safety staffing, healthcare recruitment, and overall quality of life. I believe the City must work collaboratively with developers, local businesses, regional partners, and residents to identify barriers that are limiting growth.
Yes, I do believe the new state law capping property tax budget increases at 3% will have an impact on the City’s budget, particularly as Williston continues to grow and infrastructure and service demands increase. The legislation was designed to provide long-term property tax relief and limit the rate of growth in local government spending. That said, I believe the cap also creates an opportunity for cities to become more strategic, transparent, and disciplined in how they plan and prioritize.
I would bring a combination of operational leadership, fiscal responsibility, transparency, and long-term strategic planning to the budgeting process. Throughout my career in public safety and municipal leadership, I have managed multimillion-dollar budgets, evaluated operational efficiencies, and worked through complex decisions involving staffing, infrastructure, equipment, and long-term capital planning.

Transparency is a core priority for me. I believe residents deserve clear communication, accessible information, and accountability from their elected officials. By promoting openness and encouraging public engagement, I am committed to building trust and helping Williston grow responsibly while preserving the values that make it a great place to live.
The biggest challenge that Williston will face for the next 10 years is the lack of excess funds, making every department be fiscally responsible and stay within budget. My financial background as a CFO and CPA will greatly help the team with this, both in creating realistic and accurate budgets, but also in managing the funds.
Williston’s housing needs require a balanced, long-term approach. We need more affordable apartments, townhomes, and family housing while making sure infrastructure and city services keep pace with growth. I support streamlining development, encouraging responsible investment, and working with developers to offer incentives for affordable housing. The goal should be stable neighborhoods, and a stronger community people can call home long term.
Yes — the new North Dakota law limiting annual property tax budget growth to 3% is likely to affect Williston’s city budget in meaningful ways over time.

Williston is in a different position than many North Dakota cities because it faces higher infrastructure, public safety, and maintenance costs tied to regional oil activity and long-term growth.

Currently public safety, employee wages, and maintenance are all growing at greater than a 3% annual increase.
I am a dedicated professional and community member committed to strengthening Williston through responsible leadership, financial expertise, and open government. With a strong background in finance, I bring a practical, results-driven approach to managing resources, prioritizing fiscal responsibility, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are used effectively and transparently.
